as some of you might already know, today(Sept 30th) iTunes updated its store as they do every Tuesday, every week and SURPRISE SURPRISE! "The shock of the Lightning" was not added and it isn't available on the U.S. or the Canadian stores, word on the street is iTunes did this because eventhough Oasis isn't as mainstream as it once was, the band has a HUGE fanbase in America and other acts(peculiarly also from North America) such as Jennifer Hudson(former American Idol contestant) and Nickelback were also releasing new singles on the same day. well... well... well... doesn't take a brainiac to put it all together. The new Oasis single has not been added and since the iTunes store only sees updates on Tuesday, chances are we, the Oasis fans here in America WILL NOT GET THE NEW SINGLE until next week. This will obviously affect the charts/SALES for the new music this upcoming week, what can we do? VERY LITTLE. still here's the the link to the feedback/request site for iTunes: www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.htmlNOTE : THE NEW VIDEO IS ALSO NOWHERE TO BE FOUND

How do you know this? are you linked to the band in some form? are you telling me that it's Oasis who has decided to "delay" the release on iTunes AMerica and therefore hurting themselves?? DOESN'T MAKE A LOT OF SENSE TO ME. Unless they don't want iTunes to collect any money from their latest album and wanna keep exclusively on their own website. the whole "they don't have a lot of Oasis stuff" is bullshit, give me a break! they have been advertising the new album for over a month now... WHY THEN, HAVEN'T THEY RELEASED IT LIKE IN THE UK ?

I highly doubt is a "complot". sadly, americans listen more to their poppy idols and nickelback than oasis we're not talking about a "lack of promo" here, we're not saying iTunes is not advertising the record or anything like that. THE SINGLE IS SIMPLY NOT AVAILABLE WHEN IT SHOULD BE! im not complaining about Oasis not being on the home page of the iTunes store, i am saying that the single has been released worldwide for a couple of days now and since the iTunes store in America only adds new stuff on Tuesdays, we had been waiting for today and IT'S STILL NOT ON THERE YET! Neither is the video!!!

perhaps you guys don't see importance of this matter because well... those of you in the UK got the chance and option of buying the record the day it was supposed to be available and oh by the way there is an exclusive website dedicated to the band 24/7 but that's NOT THE POINT. The point is : TAKE ALL OF THAT OUT OF THE EQUATION and WE WOULDN'T HAVE OASIS' NEW MUSIC AND VIDEO WHEN we should already be able to purchase it.

have you checked other sites besides itunes? for instance, amazon, I just saw it there it's not just iTunes, IT'S ALSO RHAPSODY! which is the reason behind Oasis not getting any promo last night during the show "The Hills" where always display the name of the song & artist of the music played in the background during scenes. Normally they give a link and tell you "this song available @ Rhapsody.com and so on... how is the single supposed to climb the charts here in the states when the 2 biggest digital music distributors are basically refusing to release the single? wow... way to go for Jennifer Hudson and Nickelback!! BRAVO!

the Amazon.com/mp3 site also does NOT have "the shock" listed as one of the New/Notable songs(just released) on their webpage.
I checked out the whole site and looked around the entire database for the new single "the shock of the lightning" and NOTHING!
what do you call this? give you a hint. fill in the blanks ok? C_MP_OT

Despite lgfaver's abruptness, he has a point. I wouldn't say it's because of iTunes, but moreso the record companies. Who would they rather see at #1? Oasis (a British artist) or Jennifer Hudson (American)/Nickelback (Canadian)?

The Elephant Man from Mars could be at #1 for all they care if he was making them a lot of money.

Yep....but who makes them more money in North America? Betcha it's not Oasis. exactly! plus even if it is the label who decided we're not releasing ANYWHERE IN NORTH AMERICA(which is what has happened) then that's because there must be some sort of conflict of interests, what other artist who is releasing a record this week is also signed to Warner? whatever the case may be, this is inexcusable.

How in the world would Oasis be a threat to Jennifer Hudson or even Nickelback?! (see your first post)
They have different audiences! It's not like they're releasing the same day as the Foo Fighters or Green Day for example!
Now I don't know why it's not released on Itunes US whereas Falling Down is available... But I'm sure it's not a "conspiracy". Warner's done a lot in terms of original promotion for Oasis in the US (all the bands covering the new songs in NYC for example!)

hhhmmm, well it also must be a conspiracy for the new Chris Cornell singles to only be available in the US digital music sites and not the UK ones. I say we fucking attack Apple, Rhapsody and Amazon headquarters!
