For me personally, version #2 is the best emotional piece Oasis has done since SCYHO. Noel's vocals are even more heartfelt than the original, and the outro is fucking epic. Of course the rocking versions is amazing, but i never thought Noel could recreate a stomper based off "5 to 1" and turn it into a masterpiece.

I didn't hear too many beatle similarities ( compared to the rest of album) and this alternate version sounds pretty original.

i only mean beatles-y stylistically. the bass is very beatles. love this version. also "revolution in her head". haha. edit: wtf, i'm getting pissed about this. this version is soooo damn good. why the hell didn't it go on. I WANT ANSWERS. edit: after listening to it a lot. and then the album, i'm not sure.

This version is amazing, I think it actually betters the album version which takes some doing. If they play this live, this has to be the version they play.

I think the album version fits better with the lyrics. I love this btw, it's really relaxing, but of course has nothing to do with the concept of a "groovy" album.

The chords and vocal melody are identical to the version on the album aren't they? It's just the backing that's changed from electric guitars and bass to acoustic picking and mellotron/synthesizer.
Verse : Am, D, F, Am
1st Refrain: C, Am, F, Am, back to C, (last time to E)
Instrumental break & 2nd Refrain C, Am, F, C
Outro: C + F

So, is this an acoustic version? Not purely. The best comparison I think that can be made to it is the semi-acoustic promo version of Where Did It All Go Wrong. There's other instruments, but the main melody is pushed by an acoustic guitar. I absolutely love it. I don't think it'd fit on DOYS in this form. I already prefer it to the album version, but I do not dislike the album version.

This is really quite good. Interesting to hear such a chill version of a loud stomper.

Definitely better than the album version, but would've sounded stupid with the rest of the CD. Would've been one of the best songs on DBTT though had he recorded it for the last record

All the alt versions and remixes (except the Chems FD one) are better, IMO.

Don't see the appeal to be honest, then again I'm an overdrive kind of fella.

I got goosebumps listening to this version (Same with TBWTB). Obviously they made the right call to put the heavier version on the album, but this version is mega. This could have been a hit if it was on DBTT.
I love both versions, but probably this one a hair better (for the moment).

All the alt versions and remixes (except the Chems FD one) are better, IMO. except TBWTL they're pretty good at times. sometimes i don't like them. the turning feels too fast.
