Although it seems everyone is in disagreement about the new album, I think almost everyone agrees that the order of the tracks is very flawed. Most people feel that the first half is far superior to the 2nd, while others (myself included) feel that the album just doesnt flow properly.
Now that we have TBWTB and I Believe in All, I figured I'd make a thread where people could post their own revised tracklistings... including the new tracks and taking out any old tracks that they feel tarnishes the album. I think making your own tracklisting makes the album more enjoyable as well, especcially in the case of DOYS. Here's mine.
1. The Shock of the Lightning 2. Bag It Up 3. The Turning 4. Waiting for the Rapture 5. To Be Where There's Life 6. I Believe in All 7. Get Off Your High Horse Lady 8. I'm Outta Time 9. The Nature of Reality 10. Ain't Got Nothing 11. Falling Down 12. Soldier On 13. The Boy With the Blues
I tried to space out the Noel-sung tracks, although I also tried to keep some of the album concepts the same (such as the first half being Noel oriented and the 2nd half featuring the rest of the band more). Plus I think that the stand out tracks arent as bunched together as they are in the actual tracklisting. While I love Soldier On and Bag It Up... Ive come to realize that they arent the greatest openers and closers. Bag It Up seems more like a nice, midtempo second track to me... and while I thought Soldier On was a decent album closer, I think its even better as that 2nd to last track. Plus, The Boy with the Blues is excellent, and the ending is epic enough to close the album.
Btw... I didnt feel that any of the songs were bad enough to be removed from the tracklisting entirely. I know some other people feel that a song or two should have been taken out tho, so feel free to.

As long as were varying DOYS tracklisting, then I'll add WFTR alternate 2 could of easily replaced the original. It's so refreshing to hear an emotional piece by Noel that competes with STCYHO.

it's much better than STCYHO. that isn't very emotional to me. that song is hollow. this one has so much more feeling to it.

I don't think any of the songs from the bonus disc would fit better on DOYS than whats on there now. I could conceivably see BWTB added on, but its unnecessary and IMO doesn't improve nor hinder the album as it is now. This is the first album where I can safely say (At this point anyway) that Oasis made all the right decisions in regards to the tracklisting.

Why do artists even bother with tracklistings anymore, eh?

Why do artists even bother with tracklistings anymore, eh? Exactly. In these digital ages, out of the box tracklists mean fuck all.

Exactly. In these digital ages, out of the box tracklists mean fuck all. Re-arranging tracks totally undermines the efforts of the artist in question, for me. And why stop there? Why not just use Audacity to slice out the bits you don't like while you're at it?

Why not just use Audacity to slice out the bits you don't like while you're at it? Uhhhh I only really started enjoying DOYS as an album when I rearranged the tracklisting. Why? Because whoever finalized the tracklisting really dropped the ball. The album flows terribly. Now if Oasis' intentions were to make an album that feels almost like its permenantly on shuffle... then they did a pretty damn good job of it. lol and the Audacity thing was pretty funny as that was a dreadful comparison to rearranging the tracklisting.

Bag It Up The Turning Waiting for the Rapture The Shock of the Lightning I'm Outta Time (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady Falling Down To Be Where There's Life Ain't Got Nothin' The Nature of Reality Soldier On
However, I would include some remixes, alternate versions, The Boy With The Blues, and I Believe In All on a separate, bonus CD.

its just good to have the band back out there having it who gives a nish what the revised album track list is but boy with the blues could never follow soldier on i can see u lot hating that if they had done that the tunes are too close in style and tempo i would have closed the song with the turning noel vocal as a reprise after soldier on but thats me i love it though

I used it to delete the 'got a piano cant find the C' line from Turn Up The Sun.
