Holy fuck I just heard The Turning and that is a tune. Thanks to the band for writing it.
It reminded me of the old days when Oasis were filled with edge and swagger I guess they never lost it...anyway well done.

Listening to "The Turning" for the first time after an already incredible "Bag It Up" was the most excited I've been about new music since the release of "D'You Know What I Mean?"... One of the very best Oasis songs ever. The verse is completely amazing and then BAM!
SO COME AAHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNNN...SHAKE YER RAGDOLL BAAAYYBEEE!
Holy crap.

TSOTL is the worst Noel song on the album... strange choice of first single, took me ages to like it and even then I didn't love it...
Shouldve definitely been The Turning! Would've blown everyone away again, DYKWIM-style... They missed an opportunity there...

Doesn't really matter if TSOTL was the first. Its a little different but its a solid opener, I mean its their best since GLIO. Plus i'm pretty sure TT will become a single. Either the 3rd of 4th.

The Shock of The Lightning is the best song on the album, and it's also the best song oasis have put out since D'You Know What I Mean?
The turning is quality, but some of the above comments make me wonder. Don't oasis fans want 100% pure 1000mph rock n roll anymore? Even if you don't agree with my opinion that it's the best since 97, surely you can't say High Horse is better?
Any TSOTL lovers out there?

I think The Turning is the best fusion between the old and the new. It has a chill Radiohead feel to the verses, but the chorus is vintage Oasis, the guitar solo is vintage Oasis, and then we come back around to the trancey piano in the end. Just perfect. The others tend to be either all old Oasis (TSOTL, IOT) or completely different (Bag It Up, TBWTL, FD)
