Some of you have 'the turning' as your fave . . . Some of you have 'to be where theres life'
Everyones favourite song - either keeps changing, or the next person/reviewer has a different favourite.
So far there's about 8-9 favourites.
Last time you could have said that was with DM /MG.
Sure sign that this, in fact, is a GREAT ALBUM.

Really if you use that 8/9 number I don't even know if DM or WTSMG had that many possible favorites.
DM: 7 - take away Married With Children, Digsy's Dinner, Up In the Sky, and Shakermaker as I've never heard anybody call these their favorites on this album.
WTSMG: 7/8 - take both swamp songs, Hey Now!, Hello, and maybe Roll With It/ She's Electric
If I offended anybody by picking the songs I did and saying they're not anybody favorites, sorry!

Yeah I know I totally agree with you. Like I'd consider Bag It Up as a favourite but then id be like "wait the turning is a farking good track so thats my favourite" but also...between that I'd forget I'm Outta Time, Soldier On, The Shock of the Lightning which is absolutely brilliant and falling down is really good as well. Aint got nothing grows on you specially since its original bad view since the demo...and nature of reality, waiting for the rapture and get off your high horse really grows on you even though there's not a lot of riff to it. So to be where there's life? shit I like the turning. I agree, the album has just constantly growing favourites, I really rate it for having an above average standard on all and its fair cloes to getting back to MG/DM if it hasn't already It's awesome!

Waiting for the Rapture wasn't my favorite when I first listened to the album, but after the second and third (4th? 5th?) listen, it's easily my fave on there. ..but you really gotta hand it to Liam. I'm Outta Time is just brilliant.

Put the album on a big ass stereo and it sounds even better(if that's possible)!!
The first 8 tracks are fantastic, and Soldier On is starting to grow on me. The album has easily exceeded my expectations....

It really is a great album - the last few tracks that were considered duds at first have really grown on me.

i dont think a measure of how great an album is how good all the songs are, you may have an album with say 11 tracks average, 9 are 7/10 but none skippable, you may have one with 6 9's etc..
Lets compare 4 albums? MY OPINION here.
Bear in mind all these tracks are relative to my opinion on the songs i think are the best. Not many songs would achieve a 10, but IMHO, Live Forever, Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger achieve that in Oasis albums. B-sides included i would add The Masterplan and Talk Tonight to them, so all scores are relative to these songs.
Definitely Maybe
- Rock n Roll Star - 9/10 - Shakermaker - 7.5/10 - Live Forever - 10/10 - Up in the Sky - 8/10 - Columbia - 8.5/10 - Supersonic - 9.5/10 - Bring it on Down - 8/10 - Cigarettes and Alcohol - 9.5/10 - Digsys Diner - 6.5/10 - Slide Away - 9.5/10 - Married With Children - 8/10 - Sad Song - 9/10
Total Score - 103/120 = 85.3% per song average rating
WTSMG
- Hello - 7.5/10 - Roll With It - 8/10 - Wonderwall - 10/10 - Don't Look Back in Anger - 10/10 - Hey Now - 7.5/10 - Some Might Say - 8/10 - Cast No Shadow - 9/10 - She's Electric - 7.5/10 - Morning Glory - 9/10 - Champagne Supernova - 10/10 - Boneheads Bank Holiday - 6/10
Total Score - 92.5/110 - 84% per song average rating
BHN
- Dyer know what i mean - 8.5/10 - My Big Mouth - 7/10 - Magic Pie - 8.5/10 - Stand By Me - 9/10 - I Hope, I Think. I Know - 6/10 - The Girl in the Dirty Shirt - 7/10 - Fade In-Out - 8.5/10 - Dont Go Away - 9/10 - Be Here Now - 8/10 - All Around the world - 9/10
Total Score - 80.5/110 - 73% per song average rating
DOYS
- Bag It Up - 8.5/10 - The Turning - 9/10 - Waiting for the Rapture - 8.5/10 - Shock of the Lightning - 8/10 - I'm Outta Time - 8/10 - High Horse Lady - 7.5/10 - Falling Down - 8.5/10 - To Be Where Theres Life - 8/10 - Aint Got Nothin - 7.5/10 - The Nature of Reality - 7.5/10 - Soldier On 7/10
I wont calculate the average but a lack of a song to compete with the big 5-6 oasis tunes will drop its point average down.. Its a rather naive way at judging albums though, sometimes a particular song makes an album that much better, it gives the album a bonus that others wont have.

I was thinking about this the other day. but then i thought, is it that every song, more or less, is absolutely amazing, or that there isnt a stand out classic.
Dont get me wrong i cant stop listening to the album, but i was wishing, stated in another thread, a Champagne Supernova or a Slide Away. A song you hear at the end of the album which tells me, yeah this is fucking unbelieveable.
Another thought i had was that maybe certain songs were growers and some were instant, which accounts for the variety of peoples favourites. For instance if you compare two peoples reviews, the first states that TSOTL is his fav, when only listening to the album once or twice, and the second person states that TNOR is his fav, after constantly playing the cd on loop for the past week. I know for one, loved TSOTL, but since bashing the cd for ages i decided that BIU was, but now its in the balance with IOT simply giving me goosebumps from every listen.
The second thought, i think, is why i agree that this definitely is a truely outstanding album and cant wait until it is released so people who have not experienced the leak can love it as much as i have and continue doing.

I think it shows something when the entire album is amazing, but lacks a strong single. The up side is that it will NEVER get boring and be a classic, but the downside is moronic little kids won't "get it" because it's not on heavy radio/TV rotation...
