So I gotta ask you all. Dig Out Your Soul....Exceed your expectations? Were you expecting more? Does this album satisfy you? Or were you wanting more.......I gotta say, this IS the album Ive been waiting for Oasis to put out for over 10 years. I think this thing is brilliant, I love the different sounds, the expierimentation works, The whole album has an "epic" feel to it. DOYS actually exceeded my expections, and I always expect big things from Oasis.

eh im still not sure what I really think about the album
its a bit uneven in spots imo..... but I think it definately contains some of the best songs that Oasis have ever done. That was my main beef about DBTT... it was a pretty consistent album and had some good tunes... but none of em were all that epic and "classic" imo. DOYS has a few songs that Im sure will go down as Oasis classics tho.
I cant wait for the bsides tho, Im sure they'll be great. Im definately satisfied, and Id give the album a 7.75/10 prolly. I give real conservative ratings too... so thats fairly high for me.
for the other albums... i give DM an 8.5/10.... WTSMG a 9/10.... BHN a 9.25/10.... SOTSOG a 7.5/10.... HC a 6.25/10... and DBTT a 7.25/10

i think oasis are wearing their current influences on their sleeves a little too much on this album, particularly noel. neil young, black rebel motorcycle club and kasabian in particular are all over this album. as is lennon. i do like the new direction, but i would've liked a little more structure. i think if this had have been a blend of what it is and don't believe the truth, it'd have been perfect in my opinion.
but i've always loved oasis for their energetic songs, the rock 'n' roll songs. there are a few on DOYS (the turning (wow) and the shock) but the majority seem to be slower, ploddy, bass-heavy, simple tunes. although they are still great songs, they seem to be "sit-with-a-joint-in-the-dark" tunes more than all-out rock tunes.
i'm not complaining. it's an ace album, and when i want the rock tunes, i go a few albums back. but i can't imagine chanting along to most of the new tunes in the same way i can with everything else they've ever done.
and, as amazing as it is, i'm outta time is a pop song.

I only like a couple of the songs. Ideally, I'd like Noel to be the only songwriter and to start putting some guitar riffs and solos back in to the songs.

My expectations were sky high, and they far exceeded them with DOYS. I got goosebumps many times on my first listen through. Might be my favorite Oasis album.

I expected nothing less from the boys. The entire album is fantastic. I will be satisfied if we get three or four new b-sides from the singles.

Alright, first post, so dont kill me! I love the Album. I thought DBTT was the best stuff they did since DM. But after hearing DOYS, Its the best since DM. Bag It Up and The Turning are the best songs on the album, but deffinately a fan of To Be Where There's Life bass line. And recently had (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady in my head singing it for hours...

This is an amazing, amazing album.
Really glad I listened to BHN before I first listened to this album - SOTSOG was the lowest Oasis has ever been, and the last 2 albums aren't anything more than 'decent to good' - their first complete album since BHN...
IMO, a co-number two in their best albums alongside BHN, just behind DM.

I'm very happy with it. Its my 3rd favourite Oasis album, i did enjoy DBTT which was better than HC for sure but DOYS i really like. Not just because its new and the current one but 10 out of the 11 tracks i'm huge fans of whereas past albums it was only 6 or 7 etc.
Love the new sound, some great songs on the album, playing it tons.
DM - 9/10 WSTMG - 9.5/10 BHN - 8/10 SOTSOG - 7/10 (A lot of growers though) HC - 6/10 DBTT - 8/10 DOYS - 8.5/10 possibly 9

The first half of the album is everything i wanted/expected and even more from oasis, i love the first half, but as cliche as it sounds, i really dont like trakcs 9,10,11 and even find FD a bit boring.
I think if the second half of the album involved more noel songs and kept the standard of BIT and TT, then i could be sat here and honestly from the heart saying that this is the bext since DM, but sadly i cant.
This album is keeping me optimistic for noels songwriting though, his are amazing on here and i rekon they will only get better in the future, but as is always the case with oasis they probably have 4-5 stomping anthems on demos somewhere that just sadly didnt get chose for the last part of this "great but could be amazing album"

i do like soldier on, but in my opinion the song is not finished. they got lazy. you xould do much more with the song. the end is fucking boring and the melodica is also NOT great. and when liams keeping singing soldier on, soldier on soldier on....don't know... too boring the whole thing. too monoton. actually i think it should be a b-side . and soldier on would be an excellent b-side.
i really really LOVE bag it up, THE TURNING (best one) , TSOTL, I'm outta time ( best ballade since SCYHO, for sure) , i dig WFTR, TBWTSL,GOYHHL, FD alright tunes are AGN, SO (sometimes i love this song, but when i listen to the whole album it is getting boring..kinda.. ) not my style is NOR but i can still listen to it.
