Probably my favourite song on DOYS atm, but i reckon that'll change tomorrow.
does anyone else think that some of the vocal lines in the verse remind you of jealous guy?
the piano bit's at the end of the chorus definitely have the piano bit of the end of the verse's of A Day in the Life.
it's a brilliant track IMO and deserves to be the next single.

Yeah I think when Liam sings the word "Applaud" he sounds just like John Lennon. Great tune. Liam's best for sure.

Everything about the song is a blueprint of the way John Lennon would have done it. Its amazing.

yeah, we had a thread comparing it to those songs. though, the piano lick lennon uses in A Day in the life, is also used in jealous guy. it's like a trilogy of that piano lick. ha.

the whole song is literally just like a Lennon song. From the vocals, and how Liam pronouces his words, the piano, the bass (at 2:27, Lennon's songs always had the low tone bass) etc...You can really tell Liam was trying to make this song sound like a Lennon song. Its amazing. The orchestra reminds me of SCYHO

i dont see how it sounds like a day in the life..
a day in the life is one of my favourite beatles tunes but neither the lennon or mccartney bit of it really sound like i'm outta time. i'm outta time is liam's music with a pinch of lennon and the rest of oasis.

Everything about the song is a blueprint of the way John Lennon would have done it. Its amazing. Nope - Lennon would've bothered to write another verse. I think the best word for this tune is "pastiche". It's a total Lennon pastiche. It's an alright tune, but mark my words: in a few years everyone noshing it off now will be saying "yeah, it's alright". Like the people who loved SCYHO on HC only suddenly now that album is "shit" and "one of Oasis' worst".
