10. They wrote better songs and made better albums.
9. They looked and acted a fuck of a lot cooler. There were no transexual haircuts and pot bellies (here's looking at you, Liam).
8. Their live performances had more evergy, were more raw and more punk rock.
7. They sold more albums and sold more tickets.
6. Noel wrote the fucking songs and Liam sang the fucking songs (with very few exceptions). End of.
5. Noel didn't write about mucky fingers and forces of nature.
4. They were relevant and got played on the radio more.
3. There was no Andy or Gem fucking up albums by including 'A Quick Peep' and 'To Be Where There's Life'.
2. Liam wasn't fat and disgusting didn't sing like a Kermit high on cocain.
1. The original version was pure magic, while the latest version has been a sad farce with no magic whatsoever.

You come here to post your opinion and to let others agree with what you think, but everyone has their own opinion. Time changes, so do lots of bands, so does Oasis. If you love a band, you support them in their good & bad times. There's no point to compare them in their old days to the new days in a negative way IMO. |

I hope the new album is great, but I will never be able to support Any Bell and Gem Archer songs just because they are under the banner of "Oasis". If I didn't give 2 fucks about them before they joined Oasis, why should I care now? |

Noel's got a better range of accents in his stories these days, on The Zane Lowe interview, his Dave Sardy & BRMC stoner dude impressions were hilarious.
Noel's always been a funny bastard though, there's an interview with an American woman on youtube from late 1994 with Bonehead where he has the crew laughing when he talks about idiot directors when making videos and later about other bands at English festivals - "they know we're the best, don't ignore us... pay homage!".

Whatever people think or say, the change in Oasis will still be a thousand times, a million times, better than what happenned to GENESIS when Phil Collins sold his soul to the devil....
I miss the " old songwriting style " in a way, I miss Noel's signature... but the new " Oasis " is full of nice surprises and much more professional as musicians than the ol' Oasis... Bonehead and Guigsy were looking as if they were casting mistakes... Like a local milk deliver ending up playing James Bond

Best part is this: if you gave all six albums to someone who never heard of Oasis, gave them a month to listen to all of them, and then asked them for their top 20 songs, I'd guarantee you there'd be 2-4 off every album.
These threads are idiotic, namely because virtually no one can give an honest appraisal of the band....fan or casual observer alike. I of course can, and therfore can recognize that while all of the lp's are not equally brilliant, they all have at least 15-20 minutes of brilliance nonetheless.

i have two things to say
1. you should be glad that your favorite band is still there wanting to do music and world tours
2. i am really glad Gem and Andy are in the band! they're great musicians, good songwriters and they have a great look! I mean, Bonehead is completely bold now and Guigsy has white hair these days..
