I see someone made a poll asking this question about Wonderwall, and since Live Forever is seen as much more legendary and just overall better than Wonderwall (unless you're the general American public and think otherwise), I thought this poll made more sense - along with comparing it to the Wonderwall poll. And no, I won't create another poll asking the same question about another Oasis song (nor do I suggest it, UHF. Seriously).
With Live Forever proclaimed as one of the bands best ever songs, with magazines always mentioning it in their top 50 or whatever lists, and with even Noel bigging up this song, I thought it would be good to gauge how good this song is.
For me, it is not only one of the best ever Oasis songs (along with Slide Away - mint that song!) but one of the best ever indeed! Musically and lyrically it's incredible.

Come on...NO
Great song, not in the "greatest song ever" class. It's not on the same level as songs like Baba O'Reilly, Bohemian Rhapsody, Layla, Stairway, etc...Those songs were not only great, but they were incredibly original.

Out of all the songs released that recognised to a viable degree by the general public than live forever is the best song of all-time, nothing comes close. And people who voted no should fuck right off and listen to radiohead

Love Oasis to death, Love Live Forever, but its not one of the greatest songs of all time. Its one of their best, but here in the states most people never heard of it. Not that that means anything, but I think Wonderwall is one of the greatest songs ever. Live Forever, no. But it is an absolutley amazing song. And it being one of the catchiest chord progressions ever? It goes G to D to Am to C, catchy but very common

Considering it's frequently voted as one of the best, yeah. If anything, it's the best tune of the 90s.
Ultimately, the best songs are the ones that stick with people over the years and throughout generations. Live Forever has, so far, done just that.

Live Forever is absolutely one of the best songs ever written.
People mention Bohemian Rhapsody. Why? Because Rolling Stone told you it's one of the best ever? It isn't. It's ok, but not that great.
Slide Away is even better.

Bohemian Rhapsody is really cool. But it's theatrical. Let's compare apples to apples
Rock songs - Live Forever is a great commercial hit without being cliche, boring, overly complicated, or too simple.
