They're older stuff is better, and their singer has gotten worse - and no, I'm not talking about Oasis!
Seriously though, Smashing Pumpkins were a good band, now they're average. Their 90s material is ace: Disarm, Tonight Tonight, Today, 1979 (my personal favorite) are all incredible. Even their more recent tunes such as The Sacred and Profane, Try Try Try, and Raindrops + Sunshowers are quality
Their newest album is hit and miss (more miss than hit, if we're being honest).
Moreover, their singer's voice has gotten incredibly irritating - talk about nasally! Jesus Christ! Why can't he sing properly?
Still, 1979 and Disarm are legendary.

Yeah the old albums like Siamese Dream & Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness are great but the new shit is fairly poor. 1979 is also my favourite song of theres.

I saw them live couple of months ago along with Incubus which i think is shite by the way,, and Corgan was really pissed, the gig had his moments and his voice is not such crap in some songs he did a beautiful acoustic set of 1979 and thats the way my love is which i thought was great,,, then he did United States and Set The COntrols for the Heart of the Sun (Pink Floyd cover) for about approximately 47 mins , which i thought was crazy... in the end i thought they were ok at the gig, lot better than Incubus that i repeat think that are shite ( mmm they have couple of tunes but the most annoying thing was their adolescent idiotic crowd that went only to see them as f they were The Beatles and then left when SP started their show. ) but Notorious i see your point about SP they are at the moment on their way down,, the drummer is fucking ace though

Yeah, i was at the same concert as dearprudence, and i think the first half of the concert was great, then they lost me
i dont know, too much distortion, too much noise
i love smashing pumpkins, siamese dream its one of the greatest albums of the 90´s but i was expecting much more from billy and company, hope they can get back on their feet, the newest album its not that bad, but they can do better.

From many minutes champagne supernova is being played? I think on BHN Tour he played the langest version. The one from Budokan is longer than 11 minutes.

They released two A-sides ahead of the upcoming new album
Cyr
The Colour of Love
Cyr doesn't sound bad and I'm glad they tried something different, but there's nothing memorable about it. I liked The Colour of Love more, it works better as a single and it's catchier.

I’m interested to hear the new songs but I’m really keen to hear a release date for the Machina reissue. That ones been forever in the works and now it seems like it will actually happen alongside this new album.
I liked the last album too. It was neat to hear them do such a concise record as they’re known for sprawling on releases.

I thought machina was canceled? Again?? Seriously?? I’ve got to look into this... It might not come out this year but Machina will come out, Jimmy has done some drum tracks for it, I don't think they would scrap it after such fanfare, it would be stupid.
