If this was directed at me, have at it; nothing like internet insults. The truth is the still the truth. Yes it was dork. I don't know what shows you have been to, but the four I attended in 2005 were anything but lame. (The crowds/fans that is) you know whats funny, I have a fantastic memory and I think we went to some of the same shows: the riverside in milwaukee was brutal (literally hundreds sat through most of the show), the uic in chicago was about 30% empty and lethargic, and the half dozen friends of mine all shared the same opinion: that the majority of people at these shows do not NEARLY feel the same passion for Oasis that you see elsewhere. But I'm sure we're all crazy AND blind. Theres a reason why they play 2-3000 seat venues here, and its certainly not because there's 10's of thousands crawling the walls to get in at every US stop. That's just reality. I could care less though, as I'm there to see the band anyway.

From my perspective it was a great crowd, and a rare general admission floor. I was in first row in Cleveland, and we know what happened at that gig, and of course MSG. I really couldn't tell you what was going on behind us, but from where I was at it was great. I guess the only one I sttended I would describe as a shit crowd was at the Across the Narrows Festival, but the crowd was shit for all the bands. (At least from what I can remember)

All I've heard was that Ain't Got Nothin' is exactly the same as the demo version and that To Be Where There's Life was really good. Not much of anything...I know.

I think crowds wherever you go are different. I have seen them in 3 different countries, and the things that struck me the most about the US was the difference in demographic. It seemed to be a much broader range. I also feel much safer at US shows than UK shows. Boston was a really good crowd, although I was right down at the front where you expect the most hardcore enthusiasts to be hanging out anyway.
As for all the talk on Liam's voice, what can I say that I haven't already said? You can't expect a 35 year old to sound as he did when he was 23, especially with the way he sings. If you compare him to other live performers instead of comparing Liam to Liam, he's still up there. Besides, I've heard some bootlegs where maybe you could say he doesn't sound 100%, but actually attended those shows where on the night everything sounded fantastic.

Im gonna make this short and NOT sweet!
Someone commented on Amercian gigs/fans kinda boring=FUCKIN TRUE! (thats not saying EVERY fucker at the gig isnt having it but, the majority of them AREN'T) Most people just stand there and somewhat dance around. Out of all the gigs Ive been to the best most "wild" one was Vegas 2005.
Someone mentioned a jacket in the merch stands? Id love to see it.
Someone mentioned Liams voice suxx? FUCK YOU! yes, his voice isnt DM/BHN quality but, you can tell he's been working on it. He managed to pull off Slide Away without it sounding like a mayjah disASSter.
I was not at the gig but, from reviewing comments, snaps, and vid's, it totally feels like a warm up. I see the setlist changing in the next coupla gigs.

Fuck me! I've been listening a lot to Slide Away, the one they played yesterday! It's just great! Definitely one of my favorite versions of it! It's just so raw and powerful! I can't wait to get to hear Wonderwall though (Am I the only one here that really is looking forward to this song I wonder? )

I wish everyone would shut up about Liams voice, I didn't have any problems with it on the last tour, and if anything I think he certainly sounds fresher on the video's from this gig. So what's your problem? When you're in the crowd its usually that loud and there are that many people singing around you (and no doubt, you may also be singing along yourself) that you can't hear his voice that well anyway. There isn't a singer on earth who can sing every song perfect every night of a tour, it's just not possible, there's always going to be the odd slip or missed note here or there, so just shush yourselves. You all seem to think his was was perfect on live performances in the past, but that's not true at all, have none of you seen the recordings of Knebworth? Where his voice is far too naisely, something to no doubt do with all the cocaine he was snorting at the time. Just quiet.

Liam's voice isn't what it once was, but it suits the songs.
Nothing more needed!

cigs and alcohol is abolute rubbish on the bootleg, the brits performance of C&A and R&R star are way better than this. And liams voice, well.... i was expecting better. He mite have crept back a little range and tone but cannot hold a note to save his life!!!!

Guys, about the talk of the crowd at the show last night...
The WaMu Theater is a small venue, all seated. There were some fans there that came for Ryan Adams (shit), but the crowd was pretty tame. Frankly, I was in the 28th row, singing my heart out, but a lot of the people there don't know all the songs... some people had absolutely no idea what was going on during TSOTL even.
I wish it was different, but that's how it is here. "Wonderwall," "Champagne Supernova," and DLBIA probably got the loudest cheers, just as you'd expect in America.
It was still an awesome show, I'll never forget it... unfortunately probably the closest I'll ever be to my heroes.

Noel sounded good. Liam was ok but anyway when I go and see them in November I dont think I'd really care how good he sounds I'll just be happy to be there. I like his voice a bit rough , I really liked the vocals from familiar to million CD, I dont mind if his voice a bit off he's a rock n roll singer not Mariah Carey.

Just finally back and settled in from Seattle, I have had very limited computer access since the show so i have not been able to post much information. There is not much else I can say about the show that hasn't already been said, but I had a great time! The highlight of the night was taht I got to chat with Chris S. and Noel before the show. We had cut behind the venue thinking it would be a shortcut to a burger place we had ben directed to and wound up right behind the equipment loading dock. Only 2 other people were standing out there, and told us that Chris Sharrock had been out chatting. Apparently there was no smoking at all inside the building, so they had to come out back to smoke.
A few minutes layer Chris came back out and chatted for about 20 minutes. Some of the things he had to say were brilliant!
Us: Is Robbie pissed off about you joining Oasis? Chris: Who is Robbie?
When we told him how pumped we were for the show, he responded that he was more excited than we were, he said he belonged on the other side of the fence with us. Never dreamed he would be playing with Oasis, sounded like sort of a dream come true for him.
He also mentioned he has a 20 year old son who has always beena huge fan of the band, so what a lucky fucker he is!
Chris also told a store of Liam coming through customs into the US. Liam stands in front of the desk (as you can picture someone imitatins his hands in pocket stance)
Customs: What is the nature of your visit to the US? Liam: Busines Customs: What kind of business Liam: Rock and Roll Business!
All in all though he seemed like a great guy, he called us his first fans, haha.
Not long after he returned for another break with the Chief himself. There was 50 yards from the fence where we were stuck behind to the back of the loading area, so they did not have to come out near us, but Noel, Chris and a few others walked out directly to the fence near us and lit up there smokes, signed some autographs and Noel (in his very vauge way) answered a few questions.
I told Noel I had come out all the way from Michigan for the show, he responded by saying "Yeah? We came all the way from England!"
He generally just answered questions about how many new songs there would be and avoided letting us know what the setlist was. he also responded to a young lady's request to come backstage with "What the fuck would you want to do that for? There is nothing to do there"
All in all it was a great night! Won't be forgetting that one!
