Seem to be getting different opinions.

In mistagoodwin's post he rated Liam's vocals as 6/10 (using 1995 as a 10/10 benchmark). I'd be a little more generous and rate them as 7/10. This was their first show in many months, so one would hope his voice is in peak condition. I agree that the vocals improved as the show went forward. I suppose my expectations are tempered by the fact that his voice will never be as good as it was 12 years ago. I would also note that there were several points in the show where he was looking over and pointing his thumb upwards, so there were clearly some issue with the mic levels. As I alluded to before, Liam seemed as disinterested as ever ... mostly posing, little to no interaction with the crowd, ultimately walked off before the conclusion of Walrus. The wife, never having seen Oasis before, was a little shocked by it, but I wasn't ... that's the way he is, and some of us love him that way.

Thanks for the video postings. And what do you mean nice solo from Gem on DLBIA? I keep hearing how Gem is this great guitarist yet I have never seen any evidence of it. I find his soloing to be uninspired and boring.

I just wanted to say that this was a stunning version of Slide Away! Love it to bits! Liam sounds absolutely, as stated before in this thread, mint! And the outro is fucking brilliant! They've never played it that way!!!! Just brilliant!

thanks for posting videos..Liams voice sounds much better then during the whole DBTT tour... but i can't imagine how he would hold on on the 18 months tour and with gigs almost every day..we'll hear it in Canada next weeks... to be honest the videos are bit of lame and boring...Slide away seems lifeless and slow...i don't know, i hope thats because of the quality of the videos...or its a first show after 3,5 years....so they get better as the tour progresses....

Are you all deaf or what?
Liam on last night SLIDE AWAY sounds EXACTLY the same as during DBTT tour...
It's Kermitt's return / strikes back / revenge etc...
And it's only the first show... so I can easily imagine how he'll sound around springstime or even before Xmas...
Now I think I'm gonna cry... TSOTL was full of promises....

Great new solo at the end of Slde Away. This really fucking annoy's me, why is it noel can write brilliant new parts for old songs yet can't write great new guitar fill's/solo's etc for new songs. Not Fair.
Also in 2 minds about Liam's voice. He's singing this time, which is good, but still looks unsure of himself. The voice was good n places and not good in others, you could see him looking frustrated throughout the song. Plus, at the end of it I'm pretty sure he said "I told these fuckers I couldnt (do it)". Anyone?

Anyone? I don't think he said that...for all we know he could be saying "I told these fuckers I could do it". Because I have no idea why he'd be doubting his voice there, it was good. Unless he said something about Noel, as it was then his cue to start singing.

It seems he doesn't know his own range anymore. Like he thinks, if he really "goes for it" his voice might crack like it seemed to every time they performed My Generation. A bit hesitant. It least you could make out the lyrics, which you certainly couldn't on the last tour. haha.
Just my opinion.

I would say that Liam actually sounds decent here and is making an attempt to sing as opposed to shout. He also seems to be annuciating a little better. I saw them 3 times on the dbtt tour one MSG was great the others not so.
Keep in mind that this is just a boot and being there I am sure it souded quite massive(Noels ending/outro did sound great)!

Well maybe 2002. A lot better than last tour and a million times better than Glastonbury 2004.

Well Slide Away sounds good... Noel did a different solo at the end of the song, sounded nice...but I can't believe they took My Big Mouth out of the set... And they really hold off a few of new songs...

Why no boots of the new songs? Video or audio?
Also, can someone pretty please post some pics of the new merch? I'm dying to see this new jacket! :-)

On the Slide Away video Liam doesn't sound great, but he's alot better than on the DBTT tour, and I'm just glad to have that song back.
Now Noel's got lyrics in front of him...I hope it's just for the new songs.
