Ya i remember rooting for Thorpe in last Olympics when he beat phelps. However Phelps is indeed a legend, but i think Bolt will steal the spotlight if he breaks mj's 200m record.

Phelps is a fruitcake. If training six hours a day, six days a week is what it takes to win some nice shiny medals, then you can fuck that for a game of soldiers.

Has anyone seen Phelps on dry land? I always imagine he walks like a penguin, or maybe shuffles around on his belly like an otter.

if swimming was so great their would be Monday Night Swimming or the World Series of Swimming...
I mean the NHL is more popular than swimming, nobody will care in 2 months (it's been 2 already and most people don't care)

I mean the NHL is more popular than swimming, nobody will care in 2 months (it's been 2 already and most people don't care) that's a silly premise. it'll never happen because unlike the nhl and the other major sports in north america, it isn't long enough. it's exciting, but i think people can only really stomach swimming every four years.
