- I work at Old Trafford. I see EVERY home game. And - one way or another - EVERY away. And I've plenty of experience as a matchgoing red, so don't you fucking look down on me and talk about me like I'm some kind of armchair supporter.
- As a hardcore United supporter, I'm certainly better qualified to talk about MY club than a lower league supporter that observes my club from a distance and chooses to judge it based on what they read out of the back of a newspaper.
So no, pal, YOU have no idea. Patronising c*nt. You know NOTHING about me.

Who let all these bloody bumpkins in?? AFC Bournemouth....I live near the ground, and I've been following them since the age of 8 I'd hate to support a big corporate club like Man Utd. fuck we wont mention the midweek result then WILL WE mia? .............an i agree why jump on that fuckin corporate bandwagon support ur local team u vaginas kudos to the tranmere fan oh..................will be funny to hear the whingin when manc city start winnin "oh but they are only buyin it" LOL ;D Mar...I think we should fully discuss the match!! ;D Well Supersonic I suppose as you live in Manchester you are supporting your local team so thats okay. But you must recognise that the big clubs continual pursuit of money will ruin the national team. Premiership teams prefering to travel abroad rather then playing pre season matches in the UK will also have a damning effect on the lower leagues. Plus where is the fun in watching such a predictable team!!! ;D

Premiership teams prefering to travel abroad rather then playing pre season matches in the UK will also have a damning effect on the lower leagues. I agree with your second point. I don't much care for the way that my club's been whoring itself out in pre-season (and even mid-season) in pursuit of money, but I also understand that the club's in a difficult position thanks to the Glazer debt, and the board are merely doing what they can to subsidise the club's income from gate receipts and television revenue and whatnot. But let's not forget that United's wealth was earnt on the strength of the club's business dealings in the early 90's, in conjunction with its success on the pitch. We weren't handed a treasure chest like Manchester City, Chelsea, or - to a lesser extent - Blackburn Rovers. Personally, I think the game turned on its head when the Italian clubs started paying sky-high transfer fees, and offering wages so astronomical that clubs like ourselves were forced to break our transfer cap in order to hang on to our best players - see Roy Keane as an example of that. I don't feel as though we're 'ruining' the national team, mind you. I'd argue that the quality of players is actually improving year-on-year - the real issue lies in team selection and management.

ps take a chill pill before you have a cardie, eh? Then stop talking to me like I'm a fucking five year old, alright? i REALLY dont get you pal all i did was make a factual observation based on what YOU said in the ronaldo thread you specifically said people who regularly go to games are no better qualified to comment-except you said it in your usual obnoxious manner so quite why you have a problem with my comment i have no idea what goes around comes around and if you want respect then treat others the same

you specifically said people who regularly go to games are no better qualified to comment You've misconstrued the point I was trying to make. I was referring - in that instance - to conversations between myself and other Manchester United fans; although I see more live games than most of my United-supporting friends, I wouldn't ever consider my opinion more valid than theirs because I know that they've seen every minute of every game, just as I have, whether that be in person or on television. Whereas I assume - perhaps wrongly, you tell me - that a neutral fan like yourself will not have seen as many of our games, or know the workings of Manchester United as intimately as I do, and are therefore less able to make considered judgments of my club or its players. That's a fair assumption to make, isn't it? It's for that same reason that I would never discuss lower league football. I just don't know enough about it.
