BHN gets slagged off because it was like a super hot stripper, you enjoyed every minute of the first time around and then you woke up and were left wondering what the hell happened to you the night before.
I personally love no less then 9 out of 12 tracks, but it does drag. It is excessive. It is responsible for killing Oasis momentum in the world of rock. I don't regret anything from it.

^^^ the biggest fook up in the history of rock. Literally.
There's such a good album in there, too, beneath the blizzard of horrendous production.
I so wish for a stripped down version a la Let It Be, but it's not gonna happen.

It is what it is. I wouldn't change a second of it. I'm personally pretty happy that they made a ridiculously bloated mess of an album that I still love to this day but that managed to alienate those who only cared about three songs on Morning Glory. They didn't deserve Oasis anyway.

Yeah I bought the DVD/version of this album
Very happy with it. I knew before hand it didn't have any BHN songs on it. Still bought it because I like it.
From what I undestand this is a Best Of album picked out by Noel basically and probably little input from Liam.
The Lock the Box commentary is very cool. I do not... and I mean do not understand why BHN doesn't have any songs on here. Just look at my signature. It has 2 of my favorite songs on it. DYKWIM was to make it but left off due to it's length and flow?
It's 18 tracks over 2 discs. He should have made it longer, but Oasis have alway been about quality over quanity right? (10, 11 song albums). With a Best Of it doesn't matter how long it is. They should of made it 10 songs per album at least. 9 doesn't make sense. Hell he could of made it 12 songs per album. I'm happy with the album but BHN needs to be on there.
I guess when you look at it... it's Noel's "Best of" through 6 albums. Even still though DYKWIM should be in there. You just can't deny BHN, great album. If I could include 2 BHN songs make it 20 total, I would do DGA and SBM easily, they are just too good.

For instance, STOP THE CLOCKS IS THE MOST UNNECESARY ALBUM OF THE BAND... why the hell you care about which songs are in there?

Pretty much a perfect metaphor for it. It's got a few tunes on it that I still enjoy, but for the most part its just an absolute mess in terms of the way it was produced. The layers upon layers upon layers of noise really kills its listenability. I personally would love to hear a remixed version of this record. Remastering won't really help it, but a remix of the masters could do wonders for it.

I would have definitely put Stand by me, DYKWIM and All around the world..at least they're on Time flies.
Be here now was a great album imo, they should have just thought about cutting some parts out, all around the world could have easily been 2 or 3 minutes shorter. Still epic though

Got round to getting the vinyl rips from that Russian site. Definitely worth the download as mentioned in other posts. It breathes new life into the album.

I didn't know this...But I feel like DYKWIM is by far not the shining song from that album. So many other better songs, even Magic Pie beats it IMO. Yeah totally agree. It was like a heavy rehash of Wonderwall. Chords are more or less the same. It goes on forever.

The first time I heard DYKWIM it blew my mind. It may very well be the most badass Oasis song. 5/5.

Was he the man from The Beetles? Don't you know anything? He was the guitarist with The Quarrymen and later played with the Travelling Wilburys.

Be Here Now, in pieces, is great. It's just a hard album to listen to as an album due to the length of the songs. They're all so big, loud, and long.....I liken listening to that album to 100 jagged pieces of metal being dragged slowly through a thousand mile field of chalkboard. It's badass for a song or two, but after two 8 minute songs you NEED something 3 minutes long.....maybe a little quieter!? There's a huge lack of variation on the album.
