the super-deluxe versions will only be purchased by the hardcore fans, and they know it...
they could charge 2x as much as the prices listed on that website and some would still buy it

I could almost believe $200 for the super deluxe, but it's the $100 CD+DVD that doesn't make sense to me. I've never paid anything close to that for a comparable product. Even the special 2xCD + DVD version of STC was only $20.
If by some weird chance these prices are right, I'm telling WB/Big Brother right now that I'm stealing the contents of that second CD when it hits the torrents. Go ahead, sue me. With a price like that, you can't be taken seriously in any court.
I agree with the Radiohead comparison made earlier. Bring the super deluxe down to $80-$100 and you might make some sales.

Bob Dylan is going this route for the next release of the Bootleg Series. I think it is a serious problem that encourages piracy. I think a lot of people are going to have a problem paying that much extra for a bonus cd. Given the economic climate most will troll the internet for the free copy. I don't encourage that but why are studios opting for this pricing structure. Music is supposed to be enjoyed by all not just those that can pony up the cash. This is really shortsighted. I am a little put off by Oasis if they sign off on this type of release. Radiohead and Charlatans give their album away for free. Coldplay give away their first single. For Oasis to take the polar opposite approach is hardly in character for a "working class band".

yea... if those are the prices...
Ill just buy the normal copy of the album and download everything else. Im sure here in America they wont even have the Super Deluxe version... so I have no qualms at all about downloading all that extra stuff for free.
Plus... I dont have that kind of money for stuff that I dont necessarily want all that much

The Japanese limited edition comes with a DVD and that's only $25 US. That's the one I ordered. There better be something extremely good on that Super Deluxe for me to even consider spending that much money on it.

Yes, the price it's a bit steep. I guess they must be planning some amazing stuff on the dvd and the second disk.

My question is: who the hell has $200 to spend on an Oasis super deluxe version of the album? noel.

The deluxe and super deluxe are limited editions which would explain the price. I'm guessing there will only be a one or two thousand of those available. Possibly less than that.

$200 clams? I think not, that must be some typO of some sorts. I bet when it nears to October the prices'll be sorted out to something more purchasable. push comes to shove, I'll have to fork over the $200 clams.

My girlfriend offered to order the Super Deluxe for me since my birthday is in mid September but I'm not sure if I want her to yet. It really depends on what is on it I guess.

Well, my girlfriend has ordered it for my birthday.
£100 for 2 cd's a dvd, and 4 heavyweight vinyls, plus the box itself doesn't seem too bad to me.
Specially if it's really limited.

it's called supply and demand people. Scarcity coupled with a willing market feeds high prices. For a band that's sold 50+ million albums, you can bet that they could move a few thousand issues of an official collectors item at just about any price they chose.

This is most likely the price as well.
According to a user on STC.org, he emailed the recordstore people because he ordered it, but Oasisinet asked them to remove it because they havent gotten a final manufacturing amount in terms of total pieces yet.
Also - It will be EXCLUSIVE to recordstore, it will be the only place to get the "super deluxe" so you must order it from there.
At least according to that guy and the copy/pasted email he posted from recordstore
