Someone there said he thinks it's their best album since BHN, and Liam's voice sounds as good as it did back in 00/01

just got back from the gig. was an awesome experience 5/6ft away from liam the whole show. set list was great. now on to the album great start bag it up is a great tune the turning is very very heavy and waiting for the rapture is again very heavy. first part of the album is instantly great where as the second part didnt seem as great but hopefully a grower. to where theres life sounded a bit boring but when played live sounds great. high horse seems to be the worst track on the album by far kinda a pointless song imo but maybe few more listens it might grow on me. aint got nuttin is slightly different to the demo and sounds great and even better live

Not the first person to say the A side of the album is great with a so-so B side.

Aren't there any recordings???
Slide Away and My Big Mouth, that's so fuckin' awesome!!!!! but I hope they play more new songs such as Bag It Up and Soldier On(don't really know them but I love to see how new songs sound live)
And what a nice touch to play DLBIA in a different way... I mean we all love the song, but sometimes it's good to have a change
And I had a pretty strong feeling that they would close with I Am The Walrus again... the boys just love the tune, and their version is in fact great...
i'm getting really excited about all this

Nobody mention My Generation. I don't want Noel getting any ideas.
Very happy with Walrus though!!

I'm really starting to worry that I won't be able to get tickets for the tour.
And not because it's implausible for me to do so, but because it sounds like it's going to be the dogs bollocks, and if I miss it I'll have another regret to take to my deathbed.

They should have another Knebworth with a setlist like that I really hope someone had a recorder in their pocket, I am DYING to hear anything new.

God, what is this "grower" shit.
That just means the songs aren't great. Sure, if you listen to a song enough times you might be able to appreciate the intricacies of the production, but a classic song should be instant gratification.
This is to be expected, of course. Oasis albums are no longer masterpieces, but rather solid rock albums with a few great songs, some filler and maybe one classic.

Agree...Did anyone ever say that DM was a grower? And to say Waiting for the Rapture = a better force of nature is like saying something is a pile of less smelly dog sh@t.
damn. But if it is better then DBTT I am happy.

Maybe this gig will be on the DVD that comes with the Super Deluxe... That could be a reason of why it was filmed?

Oasis's history with "Growers":
DM, WTSMG, BHN - all hit you like a ton of bricks and made you go wow.
SOTSOG - total grower. Why, it is a total downer record...with some real duds.
HC - total grower. Why? The second side sux.
DBTT - grower. Why? GGTIA, LLAB - really are not fully explored. And Mucky Fingers is a better FON...which is like saying, Toploader is a better version of Simply Red.

Doubt it, I get the feeling that the DVD is just a vid of the recording of the album and it would have to be complete by now to ship by October

I dont get the Mucky Fingers hatred, I think its one of the best in recent years far better than FON. If the second half of the album is weak which is what the early reports are telling us, the problem is very fucking obvious NOEL SHOULD WRITE ALL OF THE SONGS!!!!

Agree...Noel should write all the songs...I like gem, but he writes the same song over and over...he takes a Heavy Stereo single and rerecords it and calls it hung in a bad place. Then he slows it down an calls it a bell will ring (Which is class btw).
Andy can write wicked songs, but they seem to get produced poorly...Thanks you For the Good Times could have been a classic.

imo, if your last name doesn't start with Gallagher then you should not be allowed to write songs for oasis.
