Writing off songs before you've even heard them is incredibly stupid. I remember looking at WTSMG and thinking: 'Hey, DLBIA is a shit name for a song' It's not about the names, it's about who's writing the songs. I'll accept 1 Liam song, 1 Andy song, and 1 Gem song, but that's it.

Hopefully GOYHHL is a 'semi-instrumental' more along the lines of columbia than ICSIN

I expect the best 11 songs, don't give a fuck who writes them, who writes the songs is about as important as the song names, which is not at all. If you give a fuck then your an idiot.

I don't really know if you can walk around calling people dolts, you are the guy who tries to distance himself from the band the most but then takes a comment about the band to heart. Dolt anyone? ?

I agree If Britney Spears joined Oasis and wrote 12 songs that were better musically and lyrically then anything the rest of the band wrote, I would want them to put those 12 songs on the album. I'm not kidding... wouldnt everyone want to hear the best songs possible???

And to put your fire out even more I believe a gentleman by the name of Noel Gallagher joined the band a couple of years back and wrote a couple of albums I'm not 100% on this but I believe those albums were released under the band name ‘Oasis’. Don't think that they called them Noel Gallagher albums. Could someone please confirm or deny this??? Fucking goof.

I listen to Oasis because I think Noel Gallagher is one of the greatest songwriters EVER, which I honestly believe. Now if he wants to take the "burnt-out-Brian Wilsonesque" route where everyone contributes to the albums thats fine by me too (Ill just skip all the Mike Loveesque tracks!). As long as he continues to direct the core of the album Ill be happy. Im not too keen on Gem and Andy contributing as I dont consider them as "Oasis" that will always be just Liam and Noel to me. However they do write decent filler sometimes, but seriously if your favourite songs are Andy Bell's I honestly think you might want to find a forum for Hurricane #1. I personally am hoping that there will be some Noel b-sides so I can reconstruct the album however I like.
Now all these people going on about " I just want the best songs on the album no matter who wrote them" is forgetting how Noel without fail on the last 3 albums has left the best songs of the main course. Take for example:
SOTSOG- LAMB, Revolution Song HC- Shout It Out Loud DBTT- Stop The Clocks, Record Machine, (Liam sung) LDSMD
All Noel songs!
As for Liam I reckon hes a great songwriter at times but yet he does write some pretty sturdy dirges. I think everyone should lay off LJ, as if you listen to DBTT you hear he has actually DEVELOPED as a songwriter. You cant keep going back to his first song! I mean if I started ranting about Colour My Life as proof of Noel being a shit songwriter you'd all think I was raving mad. Yes he is no Shakespeare when it comes to lyrics but usually they are digestable. Think of all the shit bands out there and compare there songs to Liam's. I mean if I had songs on the same album as Noel Gallagher I think we would all know how shit my contributions would look in comparison. That Liam's do stand up is an achievement in itself.

Noel to me is the best songwriter ever. Call me crazy but he just connects with me the best. Liam has gotten a lot better through out the years. He has always and a think for melody though. JL does have a solid melody and most of his songs have pretty solid melodies, sure mayb enot as good as Noel's but they are quite good. I mean this is still unclear but he did come up with that "so sally" part in DLBIA even though he might have not made the melody. Gem and Andy are great songwriters. Andy writes some songs that can challenge the Gallagher's. Gem has yet to write a truly great tune even though Eyeball Tickler is great and should have been on DBTT.
Oh i stand corrected. Those are the only two. WFTR and FD The rest are Liam sung and GOYHHL is a semi instrumental (which could have Noel's voice or something.
