Been reading "the Last Party" book and stumbled across the lyrics of the Blur's old song "Popscene":
Hey hey, come out tonight Hey hey, come out tonight
Given that it's so familiar with TSOTL's "Come in, come out tonight", I gave Popscene a listen and the pace of the song and the structure of the intro (and these lyrics!) remind me a bit of TSOL, you can even try singing one song while listening to another one
I know that TSOTL is million times better, but don't you think that the two songs are indeed a bit similar?

Massive no.
Furthermore - hanging a comparison on the lyrics "come out tonight" is daft. How many songs in the history of rock music have used those words or a variation thereof?
You may as well accuse Noel of copying himself after "step out tonight". Pointless.

No.
The Blur song sounded like a Nirvana MIDI.

Never compare oasis to blur in this forum mate or this happens; in everything else they may disagree but not in this..

It's funny - we have all reached agreement - something that rarely happens on this forum
And while I'm here, i would like to reiterate: NO

You've not even heard more than 25 seconds of TSOTL and you're already saying it's better than Popscene "A million times better?!?". Popscene is a classic song by a classic band. It's like the same type of people on here who thinkg Liam is a genius songwriter and that MOS or Nothin' on Me are 'mega' tunes... If TSOTL is half as good as Popscene it will be very satisfying....

If TSOTL is half as good as Popscene it will be very satisfying.... 1. I strongly advise you not to call a person you don't know "an idiot". That's at least offensive and impolite 2. I didn't say "TSOTL is a rip-off". If you are patient enough to re-read my post I simply expressed my personal observation, and asked everyone else to express their opinions on this matter 3. I'm not a huge fan of Blur, but I like some of their songs and respect them as musicians. Furthermore, I'm not saying that I dislike Popscene. However, there are other Blur songs I enjoy more. 4. 25 seconds of TSOTL - pay attention - FOR ME is million times better that Popscene. You can't diminish my right to have an opinion which I didn't claim should be shared by everyone 5. Learn some manners, young man - unless "f* off" is the only constructive answer you can give to this
