If you take a look at the tracklisting, and having not heard any of the songs but SOTL (that little piece, i mean), it seems like there is a concept behind the album. Take a look:
1. "Bag It Up" 2. "The Turning" 3. "Waiting For the Rapture" 4. "The Shock of the Lightning" 5. "I'm Outta Time" 6. "Get Off Your High Horse (Lady)" 7. "Falling Down" 8. "To Be Where There Is Life" 9. "Ain't Got Nothin'" 10. "The Nature of Reality" 11. "Soldier On"
If you read into those titles, it seems like DOYS could be a story....Allow me to elaborate.
1. "Bag It Up" - Ok, enough of this shite, lets get going, i.e decide to change direction in life
2. "The Turning" - The making of the change - getting rid of belongings/friends/ideas?
3. "Waiting For the Rapture" - Awaiting God's/higher powers approval for change
4. "The Shock of the Lightning" - Something happens that throws your newfound ideals off course
5. "I'm Outta Time" - too little, too late - you're back to square one
6. "Get Off Your High Horse (Lady)" - people make light of your return to old form
7. "Falling Down" - you can't seem to stand up...
8. "To Be Where There Is Life" - ...but thats all you want to do
9. "Ain't Got Nothin'" - You realize, "man, i don't have a thing"
10. "The Nature of Reality" - But thats ok.
11. "Soldier On" - You just gotta keep moving.
Now this is a somewhat ridiculous take based solely on the track listing, but its' a realistic one at that. I can see Noel going, hmm, maybe this time I'll put some direction into an album, instead of throwing a bunch of ill fitting songs together (a la HC, DBTT, oh wait, every album (not that i mind)) We'll see.
Your thoughts?

Doubt it, don't think oasis would ever do a concept album- but who knows?

Yeah they would do a concept, noel said MAYBE once.
and
" 4. "The Shock of the Lightning" - Something happens that throws your newfound ideals off course"
It'd make more sense to say the lightning strikes you and gives you a wake up call so to speak, time to change. come in and GO OUT

it seems as if the new album has a common theme among the tracks from comments made about the album

"Be Here Now was a concept album - unfortunatley it was just the concept of excessive drug use" - Noel Gallagher.

Post more than 150 words and you're encroaching on 'obsessive', I'm afraid.
And before you argue - it's the live4evr scale, and it's highly accurate.

He gets mad at me and calls everyone on this forum chodes because he's reading into the song titles too much. And I'm actually not thinking about it at all. All I need is the tracklist and the album title. Noel doesn't go that deep into his music . . .

Takes ten seconds to select an avatar, pal.
And I was only messing. No need to get your knickers in a twist.

The lyrics we've heard to both "Falling Down" and "Ain't Got Nothing" disagree with you. TSOTL is inconclusive. Much too early to say, although my vote would say it's quite unlikely. Noel can't stick to any one idea of an album long enough for that sort of carefully planned release.

And considering that Noel couldn't even come up with an album title, I seriously doubt he went through all the trouble to do a 'concept album' . . .

The Gallaghers aren't intellegent enough to make a concept album.

The Gallaghers aren't intellegent enough to make a concept album. And Pink Floyd didn't sync Dark Side of The Moon & The Wizard of Oz intentionally.

If fooking Billie-Joe Armstrong can write a concept album, then I'm sure Oasis can manage it.
They haven't, though.

Anyone can make a concept album.
I've made around 12 or 13, chronicling the adventures of my cat.
