Guys, (and gals-) just wondering, what do you think the songs will sound like for this tour coming up? even though we have yet to hear the new songs, I know I read that DOYS was recorded with Zak... now there have been spirited debates on here in the past about who was better for the band/who had a better sound on the songs: Whitey or Zak, I know little about Chris S. , namely because I am not that big On Robbie Williams (amen to that! ) , , however when I read that he was in the (one hit wonder) band Icicle Works in the 80's that got me excited... because if you get the chance, check out their only top 40 hit 'Whisper To A Scream' , a really good song and also some top notch drumming on there... based on hearing that one song, I think he will be perfect for the classics live (Supersonic, Rock n Roll Star, MG assuming that they play those) , but I wonder how his live DOYS songs will sound as compared to the album tracks with Zak? Same, different? also how do you think he will stack up against Alan, Zak, even goin back to Tony if you'd like,, like I said based on what I have heard from Chris I think he will put some much needed pop and groove back into the classics/...

I doubt Noel would recruit a drummer that couldn't play their songs (!) And just because he played drums in Blobbies backing band doesn't mean he's bad at all.

Chris Sharrock has been kicking around for 20 years. As someone else said he worked with the La's, he also worked with the Lightning Seeds. He was The Fat Dancer's drummer, big deal.
As for the OP's question, can't really tell you how his live drumming on DOYS tracks will stack up against Zak on the album as we haven't heard either. He'll sound a little different I'm sure, put his own spin on the songs a little. I'd say he won't be as good as Zak, nor as sketchy as Tony was at times. People seem to be big on Zak and big on Alan, so he's succeeding two generally pretty popular drummers in that respect.

Recognize the second guy from the right?

Know whats weird, Alan White was the name of the drummer of the Plastic Ono Band, so Alan White was only orginally in the band cause he has the same name as a drummer of John Lennons band. thats why noel got him in the band. Im just fucking around about that but look it up an Alan White played with John Lennon, any connection to why Noel got another alan white in the band?

I doubt Noel gives a fuck about Yes' drummer.
