Everybody here is talking about Nadal becoming ATP nº1 after 3 years being the second. He's got chances because last year he didn't play as good on these championships, so he's got few points to defend compared to Federer. And he's won in Paris and London, beating the swiss both times. Federer is considered one of the best ever, and probably the most talented one, so it would be a great success for Nadal. But extremely difficult too!

He finally beat Federer at Wimbledon, but Roger's still the man.

nadal played the match of a lifetime at wimbledon. one of the greatest matches i've ever seen in any sport. i must say that he deserves that number one title is once he starts dominating the sport like federer has been for years.

If Rafa sorts out his hard court game (I'd like him to hit more flatter more often) then not only will he be no.1 but he'll also have a huge chance of getting 14+ grand slams

he'll soon get the no 1 ranking but I'm sure Federer will get it back probably early next year

This year he has won 2 Grand Slams (Roland Garros and Wimblendon), 3 Master Series (Montecarlo, Hamburg and Toronto) and 2 more cups (Conde Godó in Barcelona and Queen's). It's a great season, imo that's dominating After Federer's defeat in Cincinnati, it's just a matter of time. He can be number 1 on monday!

he's on semifinals. If he loses, he'll be nº 1 on 18th august. If he wins and losses the final, on 11th. And if he wins the tournament, he'll be nº1 this monday.
after 234 weeks, Federer will not be the best in the world. Brilliant!!
