hmmm maybe their 3rd single? they would be streching it a bit too far between august/oct for their first single and the middle of december for their second.

They wouldn't stand a chance against this year's X-Factor winner.

A nice, simple, genuine question?! No Latin or Dutch? Damnnnnnnnnn! I think there's a strong possibility of a late December single release for sure. But as someone else mentioned, weather or not it would reach No.1 given all the X Factor and Cheese Factor that pollutes the Christmas Sinlges chart is another story It would be nice to see one in there though.

Could someone please tell what in hell is an X Factor? I had to look it up. It seems to be something like American Idol, or Pop Idol. Where people compete to be the best singer. Yay, or nay?

X-Factor is just a giant televised Karaoke competition.
Nothing special.

The X-Factor element is one thing - the other is that the UK singles chart is deader than disco.
Seriously, who even knows what's Number 1 at the moment? It's not like the old days where Top Of The Pops was on every week making a big thing out of it.
Getting the Christmas #1 has no cache or big marketing value anymore. Singles sell like dogshit.

They should release Boy with the blues as a standalone single for it. I think Oasis are one of the few bands that could genuinelly outsell a daft TV phenomenon.

I disagree to be honest, X-Factor singers will always be number 1 for as long as it runs i reckon, remember how many people watch the program and then get sucked into rushing out to buy the shitty pop cover version record they aint even gonna remember a few weeks after Christmas. I dont even think Oasis could put up a fight its made harder when you get shops like Woolworths saying "we will no longer sell CD singles, except for the big ones like from the winner of the X-Factor".....yeah, thats fair.
