Let me clear this up for everyone. This is what is going on:
Oasis will be previewing their new album and single starting this weekend. Companies/ Magazines will be given login/password to hear the album to ultimately review the album. It would be very hard to rip a copy of this preview but not impossible.
SO the bottom line is even if no one leaks the album/single, there will be extremely detailed reviews that can be verified by many sources.
I would not be surpirsed if there have been those who have heard the album already, but a majority of the press will hear it this weekend.

Because i work for Rolling Stone.
i will have no chance of listening to the album. But it is on our calender of events to review.
The Verve was 3 weeks ago. and i still havent heard it yet.

No, it starts this weekend. Im not 100% clear on the details(whether its single or full album preview, ive never seen just a single preview so it has to be the album) But its on the calender. its very common to preview an album aprox 1-2 months before release, giving journalists time to listen to it. |

It means a leak is 100% certain if its indeed going down like that. Either they're not too worried about the consequences of a leak, or the previews will be watermarked and/or pretty low quality. |

That album was given for preview 3 weeks ago. i do not think leaking the album is as easy as recording it. they must place some sort of block on the files

That album was given for preview 3 weeks ago. i do not think leaking the album is as easy as recording it. they must place some sort of block on the files You don't need sophisticated software to do it -- anything capable of recording from a standard audio-out, from a tape or digital recorder to even another PC can overcome any software-based preventions on recording the audio. I also have it on fairly good authority that the Verve album has leaked, but the few people who have it aren't letting it out any further. |
