Thought this would be interesting and (gasp) even fun. Basically, what we're doing is selecting our overall FAVORITE and LEAST FAVORITE OASIS track number from the 6 LP's.
I know some short tracks (around the world reprise, the swamp song interludes from WTSMG?, a quick peep, etc) will mess it up a bit, but thats the way it goes (I also chose NOT to include Jap only tracks like Sad Song, See It Now and The Cage {hidden track on HC} btw)! Finally, I know track numbers #11 and #12 get shorted too, but those are the breaks!
Just so we're all on the same page, I've listed em' all below:
Definitely Maybe
1. Rock N Roll Star 2. Shakermaker 3. Live Forever 4. Up in the Sky 5. Columbia 6. Supersonic 7. Bring it on Down 8. Cigs and Alcohol 9. Digsy's Diner 10. Slide Away 11. Married with Children
WTSMG?
1. Hello 2. Roll With It 3. Wonderwall 4. Don't Look Back In Anger 5. Hey Now! 6. Untitled 1 7. Some Might Say 8. Cast No Shadow 9. She's Electric 10. Morning Glory 11. Untitled 2 12. Champage Supernova
Be Here Now
1. DYou Know What I Mean? 2. My Big Mouh 3. Magic Pie 4. Stand By Me 5. I Hope, I Think, I Know 6. The Girl In the Dirty Shirt 7. Fade In-Out 8. Don't Go Away 9. Be Here Now 10. All Around the World 11. It's Getting Better Man! 12 All Around the World (reprise)
Standing on the Shoulder of Giants
1. Fuckin in the Bushes 2. Go Let it Out! 3. Who Feels Love? 4. Put Yer Money Where Your Mouth Is 5. Little James 6. Gas Panic 7. Where Did It All Go Wrong? 8. Sunday Morning Call 9. I Can See A Liar 10. Roll It Over
Heathen Chemistry
1. The Hindu Times 2. Force Of Nature 3. Hung in a Bad Place 4. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 5. Songbird 6. Little By Little 7. A Quick Peep 8. Probably All In the Mind 9. She Is Love 10. Born On A Different Cloud 11. Betterman
Don't Believe the Truth
1. Turn up the Sun 2. Mucky Fingers 3. Lyla 4. Love Like A Bomb 5. The Importance of Being Idle 6. Meaning of Soul 7. GuessGod Thinks I'm Abel 8. Part of the Queue 9. Keep theDream Alive 10. A Bell Will Ring 11. Let There Be Love

Seem like there's spoilers at every one! 3 has classics in Live Forever, Wonderwall, and Lyla...but also has the not-so-classic Hung IABP, and Magic Pie!
Ditto fo 4 with PYMWYMI and Up in the Sky!
For me, its between 1 (all pretty much fantastic openers) and (surprisingly), 4 (all pretty solid to great except PYMWYMI) for tops.
I'd prob go with #1 just cuz I love D'You Know What I Mean?, Hindu Times and Rock N Roll Star so much.
As for the worse, has to be the 9 slot, right?
We have some real duds, including: Digsy's Diner, She Is Love, I Can See A Liar, Be Here Now (not THAT bad, btw) and She's Electric.
What's YOUR opinion???!!!

i would say 3, but but 4 is cool too, but not up to lyal wonderwall live forever and HIABP
and 9 is NOt that bad, I love slide away, be here now, and she's electric, I also like I can see a liar, the only one i don't really like is she is love, but I can stand it in small doses

8- Cigs and Alcohol, Cast No Shadow, Don't Go Away, Sunday Morning Call, Probably All In the Mind, Part of the Queue.
Decent mix of songs there, even if PAITM is a bit shit.

I think 10 is solid: Slide Away, Morning Glory, All Around The World, Roll It Over, Born On A Different Cloud and A Bell Will Ring. All Around The World is definitely my favorite amongst these. Then Slide Away.

I'd probably go with one, such rock classics, I love the way Hello bursts and DYKWIM and Hindu Times are some of my fav Oasis tunes.... FITB is also great, and if you count Masterplan as a cd would add Acquiesce to a perfect equation.... but I guess 10 is also quite classic apart of A Bell Will Ring

I'd have to go for 10.
7 Was close, but A Qiuck Peep let it down.

wow...a full-on sweat session for ten!
a bell will ring, roll it over, born on a different cloud and AATWORLD just don't do it for me...to each, his own though.

10's and 8's are best in average. And oh my God look at the quality differences of the 4's!

I hear ya on 4. I'm starting to change my mind a bit on 3, too. LYLA, WONDERWALL, LIVE FOREVER- undeniable classics. And I've always had a soft spot for Who Feels Love. Hung in A Bad Place is fine and Magic Pie would have been great without the 2 min outro.
1 and 3 in a dead heat right now.

3 all the way although I'd probably have to make a cup of tea during Magic Pie.
Hung In A Bad Place is one of my favourite songs the new line-up has done. If you don't like it then you are quite clearly a buffoon of immense proportions.

I've been debating this for about an hour and I haven't come to any conclusions other than 9 is the worst. I even love Be Here Now, but that still can't make up for the others.

agreed- 9 is definitely the weakest, prolly closely followed by 11.

damn its close. 8 seems underrated. Only bad track is Probably all in the Mind. You got Classics like C&A, Cast no Shadow, Don't Go Away on there plus the lovely SMC and POTQ. 7 is also quite underrated only a Quick Peep is weak.
ok hmmm in order... damn i have to say 8, 3, 10, 1 tied with 4, 7
