Seems like Zak and the band were on rocky roads for quite a while now, got this info in yesterday:
From a reliable source close to the band: " I knew he had left months ago....."

It's interesting that they kept that information under the radar for so long.

That is really bad. It was nice how they were connected to The Beatles through him

Yeah, disappointing for sure. BUT, if this isn't exactly a new development, it's fortunate that they've surely had an opportunity by now to arrange for new drummer(s) for the tour, and we've unknowingly already waited through whatever delay in scheduling dates etc. was caused by Zak's departure.

Enter Terry Kirkbride. I'm 99% sure that he is gonna be their new drummer.

Yeah Zak was a good drummer, and it is sad to see him go. But is anyone really worried that Oasis is going to turn into a shit band because they have a new drummer. Noel won't hire anyone unless they are a tops. I'm 0% concerned and 100% certain that they will still be fantastic live. Maybe they could get Phil Collins in on drums.

Fact of the matter is, Liam & Noel could go on stage with a ham sandwich on drums (or rhythm or bass for that matter) and I'd still show up to their gigs.

So do you think that Zak drums on all the new recordings? We have him in that picture clapping with the rest of the band in Abbey Road...

It wouldn't be an Oasis album release/tour without a bit a drama would it?

If I had to guess...Zak wanted to give a little more input and Noel probably said, you want your opinion heard then join the band, otherwise shut up. And Zak said fuck it

great drummer sad to see him go. But Noel will be sure to get a fucking top drummer to replace him. No worries about that but Zak is easily top 10 drummer of our time (just look at his stuff with the who) And yes this is small compared to the early days plus all oasis albums/tours have some drama to them

Zak was a good drummer and I liked his style alot, but I'm not bothered at all about this. I would be very concerned though if Andy or Gem left. But I mean, Zak wasn't even a full member of Oasis. I'm pretty sure Terry will do the job just as good :-)

It's hard to see where a normal 'band member leaving' issue could occur with someone really only in the band as a session drummer. It must be to do with Noel demanding priority treatment for Zak's 'services', whether that's a commitment to join the band fully, or to make sure he's available for future Oasis tours, and Zak refusing to give that commitment.

Terry should be able to fill in and he did a fine job on the STC tour.

true, but... playing electric with full band is a different game than that tambourine salt shaker fluff he played on the stc tour.....

a lot of bands dont play with a drummer that's in the band. the pumpkins did that, Rem, im pretty sure do that, and loads of other bands that are 2 or 3 but needs more musicians for the gigs.
I dont quite think they need a regular drummer now Noel can drum on the records, he's talented enough to do it. Or get Terry Kirkbride, his works seems ok from what we heard of him on the last record.
