With Record Machine, Im sure Liam will end up singing it. Its made for him. DREAAMM AND MACHINNNEEEE. AND MIIINEEE AND SHINEEEE. ALL THE MONEY I WAAASTEE.
I dont care it its the demo but the bit where it goes cant give me a reason i dont need one to shiiinee is absolutely first draw. I love it when songs build like that. If released the general public will also love it im 100% convinced, people will be singing this everywhere.

I agree, it's a classic. But i don't know about liam singing it. These days i'm not really sure about him singing at all. I mean, i agree the suits him fairly well, but Noel sings it so well...

Listening to the DBTT demos, he can still clearly do a good vocal, so I can see no reason for him not be on this one..

i know i am probably going to get hammered for this,, but lately i am really digging the lyla demo with noel ... before i go any further, let me be clear here: it is liam's song, he owns it, and should be the only one to sing it propper but i love the parts with noel "ring the bell for all the world to hearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" ( i have never heard the chief sing like that!) and the last chorous "make my world stand talllll lll lllll lll" the echo effect on his voice there, is simply fantastic, they should have put that effect on the album version, maybe they could even put a touch that effect on stop the clocks, (just a touch, in the right places) if they ever make a proper finished version edit: didn't mean to hijack yer thread mate, i agree i think liam would be ace on record machine

the only reason noel is singing lyla like that is so that liam can listen to noel's demo a bunch of times and copy that. noel intentionally sings a lot of his demos liam style, because liam needs training wheels, he can't do it alone. noel knows this...

I agree that Liam should sing RM, and it would sound perfect if Noel sang the last bit "You can't give me a reason..."

it would be good with both of them on it. last verse owns with noel on vocals though. One of the best builds that they have ever done

Couldn't disagree more. I think Noel is PERFECT for this song. Liam tends to mumble his words alot now which I think would destroy the song. I think Noel has the perfect voice for the song and really nails the chorus

I don't know about great, but even so...If he can't sing the song live, what's the point of having him sing it? It's one thing for him not to be able to sing Slide Away and Shakermaker anymore, but I'm just tired of him butchering some songs live...and I really think RM is too special to let that happen. Liam still rocks the shit out of the uptempo numbers, but he doesn't even do that whole "shiiiiiiiiiine" thing anymore cause he simply can't. So what's the point of him snarling his way through a song that sounds brilliant with the big bro singing it? As sad as it is (and it's really fuckin sad), I think Liam's really limited himself to what kind of songs he can sing. It used to be he just didn't sound as good as Noel on the ballads...but I really don't know if Liam's even capable of singer a softer song like RM or STC now

I would not mind hearing Liam sing it also. Normally i'm a huge fan of Noel singing but i think Liam could steal this one.
Is it just me or has Liams sound changed since he had his teeth kicked in? I have never seen anyone bring this up on this boards before? Also i have noticed up until most recent pictures it seems if Liam is a little self concious about his new teeth.
Before people start shoot ign please realize this is a statement in the form of a question.

i think liam will sing this ,the liam sung ldsmd demo has proved he can still sing in his old style but i actually think hes changed his voice himself, the grovel voice on nothing on you is clearly bein put on,an his not his natural voice maybe ,hes just adjusted it to fit the new sound??i think the old voice is in there, weve heard several accounts of this, love like a bomb, let there be love, the acoustic songs hes done, the voice is still there!!!

I know it

yeh you can get trickery mate but theres no way you can totally edit someones voice to sound like the old style, yeh you can autotune an add effects but i think liam is just not using his old vocal style anymore.hes proved he can do it but then reverts back to his new style, maybe he wanted a change

If you watch him, his breathing is probably the biggest problem. He doesn't finish words and lines because he can't breathe like he used to and literally doesn't have enough air to sing it (thank you a lifetime of chronic smoking)

I disagree about Liam's vocal being good in Let There Be Love... in the first line when he says "in the sky", you just feel like he couldn't do it, like his voice cracked or something... that's why I feel that this song is a bit of a let down for me... great lyrics, fantastic chorus, but the verses just don't sound as good as they could...
Oh and I also believe that RM won't be any acoustic, maybe the first verse "a lá" Champagne Supernova, but I'm pretty sure the guitars will be there if a final version ever come up...and if it's about to be a 10 min epic there's no way Noel will sing it...

I like Noel's voice on this song, which by the way is a 10!!! Best song since the Be Here Now era. Reeks of Beatle-awesomeness!!!!! Can't wait!! Also, I thought I read somewhere that Noel was gonna sing this one? "Light a little fire where it's cold."-- Classic

I Best song since the Be Here Now era. Reeks of Beatle-awesomeness!!!!! Agreed...it's got that feel to it that's largely been missing since the 1995-96 era IMO. Noel said it was a cross between The Beatles and Zeppelin, but it sounds more like a Beatles/Pink Floyd hybrid to me..

Lets not forget that Noel smokes, is older, and his voice still sounds great. I dont buy the whole smoking excuse

But Noel also has a lot fewer "miles" on his vocal chords. On the whole Liam has sung A LOT more than Noel has over the past 15 years. That has to take a toll.
