Only one can be on the album (hypothetically) which one would you choose, considering the final versions realise the full potential of each song. Personally I think Rm has more scope and room to work it, and if the last verse is repeated a couple of times in the projected time frame....

i think STC has more potential if given the right production. it needs an orchestra badly, cause the first couple minutes sound like a Noel b-side except for that trippy backwards guitar. If they spent enough time on it, STC could be like a Stairway to Heaven type of song. The first half could be dreamy and psychedelic and the 2nd half could rock...so obviously they'd have to expand on that insane outro. however as of right now, RM is definitely more radio friendly so to speak

I love both, but, Stop the Clocks is better. It might be a disappointment, but it's still a supreme song.

stop the clocks has potential but unfortunatelly won't be on the album

One of the greatest Oasis Choruses ever!
I wanna live in a dreeeeaaammm! In my record machiieeeeeeeeeeeeen!
I hope this ends up being a Liam tune with Be Here Now style hugeness... and fixed lyrics... It's got to be a Heathen Chemistry era song because the verses have that horrific "sacred" lyric... and a few other cringe-worthy lines... he was using a lot of those horrendous lyrics (almost Christian sounding) on She Is Love etc... I miss the drug days of fishes and dishes.
If you took the verse from Stop The Clocks and the chorus from Record Machine you'd have one of the best anthems ever.

I think it goes on in the same way for a bit too long perhaps, even though I think it is a very good song. Some violins might work to add variety possibly? The solo could be extended, a final verse added etc..we already know from what Noel's said that it's at least a 7-minute tune. I hope they go full electric at least.

This is what Noel said at his Q&A in NYC at the Lord Don't Slow me Down premiere. Who knows what demo this is that leaked. There's probably several versions. I expect the finished version of both of these tunes to be awesome. STC seems more like an epic though.

The way I see it, from these recording, Stop The Clocks has much more potential, but Record Machine is the better song as of now. Stop the Clocks could top Champagne Supernova, if they extended the outro. It would make the song really epic, along with adding violins or something and a nice quiet bassline throughout the verses. Record Machine, I don't know how they could change it to make it better, that's why i don't see much potential in it...

Hope both are on the album cause they are extremely good... if i have to choose i will choose Stop The Clocks because is more different from what noel and oasis are use to.. is the kind of song that can change an album completely. And i like it more anyway..

this has nothing to do with the stc vs rm thing
but i listening to all in the mind and its really similar to stc, at least for me
imagine an all in the mind acoustic demo with noel on vocals and its pretty much the same, just a little bit faster

A stated before; Record Machine makes Cigs In Hell sound like a no. 1 hit single. I'd go with Stop The Clocks anyday.

Both are 10/10 imo, but RM is better.
STC has the potential to be HUGE, but needs work, and needs more work than RM
I agree with most, STC does tend to be SLIGHTLY dull. If the revamp it correctly, it willbe huge. It has a good sound, good lyrics, and good outro, but it's not the complete product imo. (Hence its a demo lol)
RM is more complete than STC. It's not at the final version yet either, but i wouldnt be dissapointed if this version appeared on the album. Add the 3mins to make it longer, and 1 or 2 more guitar solos, and its complete. It's better than AATW as it stands now -- AATW is good, but drags on too long and is too unneccessary. RM actually goes somewhere. Noel is right to describe it more like Champagne Supernova. It's almost on par with CS. And I feel with a little bit of work, it'll be better than CS bc it has the same monumental sound, but has better, more meaningful lyrics (even in its demo form!)
Again, if RM and STC are anything to go by concerning the new album, we're in for a real fucking treat.
And for you nay sayers, these 2 songs were left off DBTT for two reasons: 1.) They werent ready yet. Noel wasn't satisfied with them during 2005. He's now had 3 years to work on them further. 2.) They don't fit the DBTT sound. These two songs are anthems that bring us back to the WTS/BHN era, DBTT was not an anthem album, so even if Noel was pleased with them, they wouldnt have made the album bc they simply dont fit the style
So to the few people who think they wont appear on this new album bc they were intentionally left off of DBTT, your reasoning is wrong: 3 years of tweaking + a different style of sound to this new album gives us every chance to believe they'll appear on it.
Sorry, but the logical reasonings supporting that these two songs will be on the album are stronger than the arguments that suggest they wont be on it.

Prefer Record Machine.
Disagree that it is a Champagne Supernova type song - think with a bit of beefing up and Liam on vox it would make a great rocker and potential first single.

Yeah, i personally think that Stop the Clocks is more of a champagne supernova-type song.
