Granted some parts in RM and STC are epic, but I can't help thinking that that was the bare minimum for an oasis song in days gone past. Songs like FO,SIOL and YGTHOAS are much better, and the lack of melody inherrent in some sections is quite frankly worringly.

....but have to disagree both RM and STC are way ahead of all the songs you mention......STC is a little plodding and dull, but with great melody and grows and grows until the great ending! (not a song for non oasis fans though imo)

The ending of the live versions of Supersonic are just as good as the STC one I would say and its the song and melody that dominates when its remembered. THe same can't be said for STC. Nevertheless Noel said the album would be more grooved base...

STC is not the best Noel Gallagher written song, but is one of the best because of the emotion it transfers, the vocal harmonies and the unexpected outro.. Noel now says is not his best ;D EVERY Oasis fan knows the existence of the song Stop The Clocks. Noel even said it was the best track he’d ever written. When will we hear it? MATT ROGERS, Welling Liam: I don’t think Our Kid can get it right. I don’t think it’s the best he’s written ? it’s a tune but not his best. He’s done about four versions but he’s not happy with it so it’s a bit of a nightmare. Andy: It is an amazing tune. It has quite a heavy theme to it and we’ve had a few goes at it. We’ll get it right one day. Noel: Every time I write a new song I say it’s the best ever! But it’s not the best thing I’ve ever written. bare medium?? they are 3 year old demos! STC is the only song we could possibly judge as bar lowering...and its fuckin great! But it was reportedly dropped from DBTT! "Bar lowing " is a bit harsh....for "old stuff".

in my opinion (YG)THOAS is much better than both STC and RM (as they stand now, in their demo versions)... it's actually one of my all time favorite Noel/Oasis tunes

I have stayed out of these discussions but the title of this thread hit a nerve. This is nothing personal against you gottahavefun but these are friggin demos people. I think it is insulting to judge a work when the artist hasn't finished it or is not happy with the current product.
Enjoy these songs for what they are. Know that Noel probably didn't want you to hear them and pass judgement on the final product. I hope that the release of these demos does not have unintended consquences such as a removal of any version of RM or STC from the upcoming album.
