I don't know if this has already been posted but you can hear Noel singing "Stop the Clocks" during, "Record Machine". It comes in exactly at 4:00 into the song. It's quiet, but it's there. I bet Record Machine is going to follow STC on the album.
Record Machine is a top tune. Its my favorite Noel sung song I've heard. And Stop the Clocks is shit. Boring tune. Thats the problem with a lot of Noel's songs recently, you can tell he is coming up with the lyrics before he has the music for the song. I bet he came up with the line, "Stop the clocks and turn the world around", and was like, that's mega. And just found a chord progression to crowbar that line into. You can tell which comes first the music or the lyric.

Disagree about STC. It's mega.
And there's been enough threads already about the stc sample in RM.

Dont see how are people in the world that dislike STC, i think is a mega tune,,, every listen is better... someone in the forum said growers are not great tunes... what about I Am The Walrus, Sympathy For The Devil, Waterloo Sunset, those are growers my friends... and are classics
RM is very good song, but imo is not at the top of noel's best work... i dont know why people have it in a sanctuary... very good melody... not that great lyrics.. is amazing for noel's 2000 - 2008 stuff probably one of the best, but still dont see it at the top of my list of noel's songs

Not to say that the STC lyrics are flawless, but Noel has gone on record many, many, many times stating that he always comes up with the tune/melody first and then has to spend ages and ages on the lyrics as they come hard to him. When he rushes we end up with shit like I Can See A Liar.

funny driving home from work i listened to record machine 3 times and somehow even with the cold ending in stc (well, the version we have heard anyway) i now picture stc flowing/mixing/seguing into record machine, or visa versa to close out an album (notice i didn't say the NEXT album)
the only problem with that theory is two noel-sung songs back to back, and to close it out nonetheless
of course, theres always the chance that liam will sing one of them--- or both

if liam sings one of the two, i think he should sing in RM cause is more suitable for him,, i think he his voice is not suitable for STC, specially in the glorious harmonies

i know that noel has said that he has several versions, some of him singing it and some with liam , , i would love to hear a liam version
imagine a 94-96 liam singing it , wow now wouldn't that be something
