I know it might sounds a bit stupid, but just think about it. Do you think they classify as a supergroup? Do you view them now more of a supergroup than before? Of course they are under the banner of Oasis, but yet again all of them are from famous bands. Liam and Noel are the nucleus of Oasis, while we have Andy and Gem hailing from famous bands before that. Hell, Zak is also from The Who and The Healers.
So we have sort off: Liam Gallagher (Oasis) Noel Gallagher (Oasis) Andy Bell (Ride, Hurricane#1) Gem Archer (Heavy Stereo) Zak Starkey (The Who, Johnny Marr & the Healers)

in a way yes. They all are respected musicians. Ride was a huge indie band back in their day and Noel once described Andy has an Indie Icon. Heavy Stereo was a solid band but not really popular but Gem was a repected musician. Zak, hell he has played with so many talented people Who, Healers, ect and his the son of ringo. But yeah they are a mild supergroup Liam, Noel, and Zak are the main big stars but Andy and Gem are respected indie icons

No. Respect doesn't make it a supergroup. Success does. Gem is hardly an "indie icon", he may be now, but most people didn't know who the fuck he was when he joined Oasis.
The classic definition of supergroup is a NEW band formed and composed of members from other bands that were hugely successful. The first example of a supergroup is Crosby, Stills, Nash, (and later Young). David Crosby of The Byrds, Stephen Stills and Neil Young of Buffalo Springfield, and Graham Nash of The Hollies. They all knew success similar to what they achieved together and then at least matched that if not surpassed that together. Gem and Andy simply joined an already established, hugely successful group.
Ride was never huge. They were relatively big in England, but hardly made a dent anywhere else. Frankly, I had never heard of Heavy Stereo until Gem joined Oasis. The term doesnt apply to bands that were just good, but mainly successful commercially. Noel and Liam have never been a part of another band. Gem and Andy never reached the success they have with Oasis prior and Noel and Liam have known it from the beginning. Zak Im not counting obviously, but hes not a permanent member and still plays with his other bands. Oasis has never reached the heights it did in the 90s with Gem and Andy in the band.
Modern day supergroups are Audioslave (RATM + Soundgarden), or Velvet Revolver (STP + GNR), however they never reached the success they did with their original bands, so even they can't be considered supergroups now.

In the late 1960s, the term supergroup was coined to describe rock music groups composed of members who had already achieved fame or respect in other groups or as individual artists -Wikipedia

Oasis has never reached the heights it did in the 90s with Gem and Andy in the band. That has nothing to do with Andy or Gem. Thats down to the musical climate changing, shifting from Rock to this ridiculous rap nonsense, along with Noel/Liam being very uninspired from 2000-2002. Back on form now though, but the dip had nothing to do with Gem or Andy.
