Ahhh why I am the only one on this fuckin site that is in anyway un biased.........
Although i think record machine is brilliant!....i dont think it has enough to make Oasis big.....it will make people bored......
for some looser freaks who sit up until 4:30 listening to these songs then maybe you understand that these are great songs,
but for the general public listening on the radio.....im not too sure...
Stop the Clocks.....defo not finished......if it is then we're really fucked.
I dont want to sound negative....but come on people!......these arent gonna be big if they stay the way they are...........
I just hope that these were recorded in 2004 and that they wont be acoustic........im bored of STC already...

Yeah seriously they are both brilliant. I will admit that you have to drag a fair few listens out of Stop The Clocks to get it going, and il agree with the general opinion that it kind of weeps along, but after you come to know it inside out its a real corker, especially the last minute and a half, hopefully its revamped/electrified in the finish. Record Machine has elements of the stuff of Oasis legend, the guitar solo is ace despite its shortness, they should lengthen it, and the chorus just takes you away, the final verse is the best bit, its so anthemic, again it needs revamped despite being much superior to STC to go on an album, but for now its amazing. "Can't give me a reason, I dont need one to shhhhiiiinne" I didn't Oasis could produce this quality in the current era, even though it was written ages ago, its still great compared to most 2000> material IMO

what i like the most about Stop The Clocks are the Harmonies.... fuck those blow me away... seems to have just the amount of melancholy to actually feel the song inside you,,,,, without turning depressive.

well, stop the clocks is a great tune, but obviously need more to become a classic! but i'm confident, it's just a demo
but record machine got me in the first listen.. what a tune!! it will be one of the oasis classics of all time, and it'll definitely be on the new record.. noel said it several times this year imagine how it will sound with all the orchestras, choirs, the 50-people coraL, two more guitar solos and at least 3 or 4 minutes longer.. FUCK!!

Liam needs to sing the final version of record machine. He should have sang lead on Force of Nature and he would have made that song a hit.

Record Machine will be huge. The demo version is already monumental, the final version will surely be epic.
I showed 5 of my AMERICAN, NON-OASIS-LIKING (only like the big hits, you know - the casual oasis listener) friends these songs, and EVERY SINGLE ONE really enjoyed STC and RM.....that speaks volumes, and shatters your whole opinion right there.

If it works, then I'm all for it, but Noel does wonders on it anyway. In fact, I'd rather Noel sing it -- Record Machine is almost identicle to Flashbax, and thats a GREAT thing imo

Why is everyone so concerned about how big these songs make Oasis? Oasis are big enough. I couldn't care less whether American's want to hear these songs on the radio. All that I care about is whether I (and I guess to a lesser extent, the band) dig the songs.

Also, one of the radio stations in Philadelphia announced the leak, and told its listeners if they want to hear it, they better act quickly (incase they're taken off, which they wont be lol)
Oasis hasnt cracked America? Fuck off right now. They have.

does webhamster give away free psychotherapy to members? i'm really baffled by the amount of honesty that fills this section recently. -- Oasis hasnt cracked America? They have. one of the radio stations in Philadelphia well i just have a different definition of what cracking a certain market means (apart from 'being somewhat respected'). if a #12 in the album charts & a short message on some radio station in philly means they've cracked the US then leona lewis is bigger than the rolling stones, green day and u2 combined.

Back to the songs (getting bored of the shit being spouted on these threads)...
Record Machine has a lot of potential but would need Liam on vox and the chorus to be ramped up considerably, without going over the top in a Be Here Now stylee.
"orchestras, choirs, the 50-people coraL, two more guitar solos and at least 3 or 4 minutes longer" as has been suggested would kill it stone dead.
A bit of Morning Glory style production is what's needed on this one if it's going on the album.

Love you to be right, but think you're getting a bit over excited frankly. These tunes are good, but they are no great leap in quality beyond the best stuff on DBTT or HC. People will hear the, go "yeah, s'alright" and get on with their lives. All this talk of STC being a "Wonderwall level" of hit is deluded.

Just finally got hold of them (finally !)
Really like 'nothing on me', not a great great song but its great to hear a new Oasis song.
The two Noel slowies i'm not a huge fan of, to be honest i'm not that keen on Noels slow songs but again its great to hear some new stuff.
But after hearing for ages and ages about how amazing Stop the clocks is, i feel a bit letdown.
Granted a lot of these are early ones (Remember the poor response the two Oasis songs at Glastonbury got years ago (Meaning of soul and a bell will ring) but the final versions were very good.
Really like Lord dont slow me down with Liam singing though
Its great hearing new songs but i dont think theres anything so far which has blown me away, Oasis fans will like these but non-Oasis fanatics probably wont think that much
