IF IF IF.....albeit a slight variation, but if these 3 songs (STC, RM, Nothing on Me) are indeed on the new album, what do you reckon?
If they are, then i'm REALLY looking forward to the next 7 tracks or so.
STC: 10/10 RM: 10/10 NOM: 7/10
Record Machine is just epic. And STC is everything we knew it could be.
Still not sure if Noel really did say this album was a cross between DBTT and BHN, but either way, it's not a bad description.
It seems to me like this album is shaping up to be BHN done right. --> Big sound, some good lyrics but not their best (Bar STC, obviously), and good production (compared to BHN)
I would be VERY pleased if these 3 songs make it, even as is.
I'll say it again, and even more confidently this time: This new album will indeed cement Oasis back into the mainstream and show the critics once and for all Oasis are not has-beens.

I dont get how you can even consider these tunes, that are older than the final DBTT that we already know, a barometer on the quality of the upcoming album.
The changes that these will have gone through IF they are on the record can't be understated. If record machine is 10 minutes long now, wow, just wow.
Stop the Clocks is likely not on there.
Who the fuck knows about Nothing on Me.
If basing it off on Record Machine, I have high hopes. I dont particularly like STC but Nothing on Me is gnarly. Its too early and these have such a questionable sourcing in terms of timeframe that we cannot base the new album off of them.
Look at it this way, songs like Lyla are newer than these.

Noel said he had seven tracks on the new album; 3 old ones and 4 new ones. New ones as in written while recording.

Here's an interesting persepctive:
When Lyla was released/leaked, most of us - including me - had the reaction of WTF is this? It sounded horrible, but grew into a solid tune.
But these 3 songs are more immediate, and that can only be a good sign.
Agreed though, if Record Machine is made slightly longer, and sets the tone for the rest of the album, then we're in for a fantastic album.
Really, this album - going by these 3 songs only, of course - has a great chance to rival WTSMG

LOL Again, i think they will be on the new album, maybe not exactly the same, but close enough. Oh and how about this: STC is labeled with "01" after the name. A rumour suggested STC would lead off the album.....hmmmm.,....of course anyone can add "01" for any reason, so it doesnt mean anything necessarily, jut somthing to consider.....

I really dont know what people want? They cant win.

Maybe these songs have been 'released' now because Noel has finally chosen the track list of the new album and they are not on it. Not that I'm saying Noel is behind the leak or anything like that but it must be someone with very good connections who may also know the new album track listing. Otherwise why hang on to them until now since they are at least 3 years old as far as we know?

This new album will indeed cement Oasis back into the mainstream and show the critics once and for all Oasis are not has-beens. most certainly not. oasis is respected among insiders & music aficionados. but if they wanna be recognized by the mainstream again they need one simple thing: to sell >10 million copies of the new album. the primary criterion for acceptance by mainstream outlets is commercial success. if you wanna kick the likes of linkin park and RHCP out of the radio you need a top ten single and huge promotion....things oasis didnt have since BHN. the new songs are okay considering they're only demos and obviously far from being in finished state. "they aint got nothing on me" is meaning of soul revisited, hope it's not on the album, STC needs a bit more innovation, IWLAD is genius.
