Noel talked to Bookie from the Edge this afternoon. Here are a few notes from the very brief interview.
-New album out in September/No date set -Noel has seven tracks on the album -The new songs are the "Most current"/"Fresh" -Regarding Coldplay, Noel said "Chris is a top geezer" and "loves Coldplay" -Believes there too much music given away for free
Cheers!

Any word on when we will be hearing the new single? I always listen to the Edge and I'm upset I missed that.

Noel has seven, most he's had since SOTSOG isn't it? Or maybe HC.
Either way, I generally prefer Noel's songs. I'm guessing seven Noel and one for the other three. Can't wait for this record!

7 tracks from Noel sounds interesting. Maybe we'll get a 12-track album this time?

I heard Violet Hill by Coldplay. If their album is out in a month and a half, than I don't suspect we will hear a new Oasis song until the beginning of August

Very very encouraging that Noel has seven songs. He is so self critical and there ar 2 or 3 other decent songwriters (Jurys out on Liam...) in Gem and Andy Bell so it bodes well.
Just an aside I love Violet Hill the free Coldplay free single and think the next Coldplay will be a classic

does anyone have a file of it? I would love to hear it www.edge102.com/DJsandShows/DaveBookman.aspxthere you go Jenny, he talks about The Virgin Music fest, Paul Weller's album, Coldplay and the new Oasis album. Don't know why the first neglected to mention that Noel wrote four of his seven album tracks in the studio during recording. To me that cuts back to possibility of STC and Record Machine and all the other songs people are going on about. I like the idea that these four tracks were written in the studio makes them really current and 'fresh' as Noel said.

7 songs? Great!
I guess they noticed that liams songs where BS, hopefully only 1 (or 2) of his song will see the light on the album

More from the Edge:
Noel Gallagher of Oasis told the Edge's own Bookie that he doesn't think music should be given away for free (as Coldplay have recently done). He also said that he's jacked to play Winnipeg, the birthplace of Neil Young. Regarding V-Fest, Gallagher thinks that it's going to be a "sh*t show" (in a good way), and he's stoked to play with Stereophonics and Paul Wellar. Also, he told us to expect a 100% new Oasis record in stores in September.

a 100% new oasis record would mean no LDSMD, no Who put the weight, no Revolution song and so on?

sounds great. I'm saying 2 from Liam and 1 from both Gem and Andy. The older songs could be put on the next album or b-sides which is still great.

Well, I guess this means three new songs in early August or so. I can live with that.
Just three more months until we hear new Oasis material!

Isn't that most likely a reference to the Best-Of? (Like saying "This album will be of material that hasn't been officially release yet.")

a 100% new oasis record would mean no LDSMD, no Who put the weight, no Revolution song and so on? A few years back Noel said that another b-side collection would be coming out with the stuff from sotsog on so i hope that who put the weight , revolution song, etc. will be on that.
