What do you reckon?
I --> 1994 to 1999: Glory days, biggest band in the world II--> 2000 to 2004: Uninspired, "has-beens" (music critics) III-->2005 to ?? : Return to form, focused, mature....
I guess this new album will confirm if Oasis are continuing in the right directionn after DBTT or not

How I see it...
I --> 1995 to present: My favorite band.
Fuck the analysis. I couldn't care less what other people think, or what "right direction" even means.

Give Headshrinker a break, there is nothing wrong with this thread. As for his analysis, I think it fits.

omf... how many shit threads is one member allowed before they are shown the door? you're the fool a few months ago saying since the members have children and a family now they wont be making albums or touring. so much for that. at least my analysis is thought provoking, yours is just pure bullshit.

It really bothers me when people say "oasis are"
That's grammatically incorrect.

It really bothers me when people say "oasis are" That's grammatically incorrect. No it's not. In England it's "Oasis are", "Arsenal are" etc in the US it's "Oasis is", "Arsenal is" etc The UK version is smarter....a group consists of many people, thus it should count as plural.... Even though I know the above, and even though i'm in the US, I still use the UK format most of the time just by habit from being raised in the UK....Never been marked off for it, I guess as long as you're consistent, it hardly matters.

Well personally I didn't think DBTT was a return to form. Thought it was a bit dull to be honest.
So for me it's:
1994 - 1996 > Most exciting band in the world and the one with the best songs
1997 - 1999 > Post-Be Here Now crisis and search for new direction
2000 - 2004 > New line-up finding their feet, hit-and-miss albums
2005 - ? > Obsession with musicianship and classic rock vibe that's a bit uninspiring
I hope the new album sees them go back to doing what they do best - churning out timeless, radio-friendly, Noel-written guitar pop.
