I pick FWN
I still have mixed opinions about them. Probably because the hype is over blown - they are a good band, but not deserving as one of the Best Albums/Bands ever as the NME like to think. Neither album comes close to challenging the Beatles or Oasis or U2 etc in their prime.
FWN though, is much more mature and serious with better lyrics - Old Yellow Bricks is amazing how he worked that topic so brilliantly.
Their hollow sound still gets on my nerves - works well on some songs, but it's not my thing - I prefer the more melodic style of the Kooks. But the energy, lyrics, are stunning, and the sound - while I said annoys me - isn't bad
AMs are a band I like, but not in the top - how can you say they are better than Oasis? Stone Roses? The Smiths? The Jam? The Clash? etc
Oh, and their soft songs are HORRIBLE - they need to work on that aspect (Riot Vans, Only One Who Knows -- SO POOR imo).....to be fair, 505 is solid

i went with the first album can still listen to it from start to finish without even wantin to skip a track. In my opinion their the most excitin band musically thats been around recently, plus their amazin live. Lyrically Alex turner's one of the best of our generation. As for the softer songs i can't see how you think they need to work on that aspect, yeh fair enough they have a couple of weak ones but you've only gotta listen to one's like 'Too much to ask' '505' 'No Buses' and 'The Bakery' to see their also class with their softer tunes.

Whatever People Say I Am... is the only one I've heard all of, but I imagine FWN is good too.
