OK - i'm a newbie on here - but I have been on the forum for the past few months. Perhaps I'm a little different to everyone else.......let me explain (quickly) I only liked Oasis when they started becoming "unfashionable", a bit like the grunge scene when it died (I didn't get into nirvana until 1999), and quite a lot of music that I'm into. Only from around 2000 I was a fan of Oasis!!!
My favourite Oasis album is be here now!!! My favourite bands are old-school rock like Led Zeppelin, UFO, right through to bands like Faith No More, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Living Colour, back to british bands like The Wildhearts, Terrorvision, Senseless Things, Mansun ect.....
So from my (hard rock) point of view my favourite Oasis songs are: Columbia Supersonic Morning Glory d'ya know what i mean Acquiesce Underneath The Sky Magic Pie My Big Mouth I can see a Liar Roll It Over Love Like A Bomb The Meaning Of Soul Guess God Thinks I'm Abel
My 2 favourite Oasis songs are I can see a liar, and Roll it Over - the former a brilliant whoesque tune and the latter nods to pink floyd - I feel however that i'm perhaps the only person that goes with this!!! Who else rates these songs???

both ICSAL and RIO are great. Many hate the lyrics on ICSAL and I know they're not very good but they're not that awful and the song is all about the energy anyway. RIO is another great song. Noel wrote MANY great songs during the SOTSOG era. SOTSOG is a fantastic album and I'm sure that one day it will get the respect it deserves.

I dont like SOTSOG that much, well compared to other Oasis Albums of course, even Noel said it in the documentary of STC (thanks frank by the way ) "I was pretty uninspired bout writing music at the time". In the other hand, 11 years after Be Here Now, im becoming a HUGE fan of that album, is the album if heard the most this year, until longtime servant of the gun is released in august (i hate he fact we still dont know the fking name of the album, im sick of calling it he new album anyway). I appreciate BHN more today than 11 years ago ......is just has this sense of freedom it has (maybe for substance abuse,, mmmm not maybe..... definitely for substance abuse) a and obviously incredible songs. my opinion anyway,, Cheers

Little James is better than Mucky Fingers imo Well I'm not sure about that; although I do agree that on most days I prefer Let It Be and Hey Jude to I'm Waiting For The Man

I Can See a Liar has some of the best drumming Alan ever did. No the lyrics are not that good but its all about the energy and the vibe and it has that. Roll It Over is one of my top 5 oasis songs. Very verve and floydish. one of liam's best vocal tracks. Its quite epic with the Choir and building solo

is this thread in the right section? Yep, I do believe it is. It states under the facts and fiction category that this is for rumors, fan news, opinions, and questions

If Noel had yanked ICSAL off of SOTSOG and replaced it with Let's All Make Believe that album would have been about 15% better.

I Can See a Liar is awful for Oasis standards! "I can see a liar, sitting by the fire"?? What'd that take Noel 2 or 3 seconds to come up with? I mean they're known for some nonesense lyrics that are fairly childlike, but come on...I mean the mix is terrible, the whole song is just shit IMO
