was reading today about how leona lewis has cracked the states because shes had a number 1,now after they listed all the great failed british artists who havent cracked the states.this pisses me off cos in there own way they have.they put them in the same category as robbie williams an that, oasis have sold around 7 million more albums than that twat over there!!in there peak they did crack the states,1st 3 albums sold what?6-7mill copies?yeh there sales have sloped off but with dbtt they rose again if onnly by a few thousand, but what they fail to state is the sellout tour where they played to roughly 300 000 fans, its just bollocks really,i think with this album aswell ,they could get the promotion they need over there

I'm curious to see how their new album does on the US charts. Here is their history:
Billboard 200
2006 Stop The Clocks (Best Of) 89 2005 Don't Believe The Truth 12 2002 Heathen Chemistry 23 2000 Familiar To Millions 182 2000 Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants 24 1998 The Masterplan 51 1997 Be Here Now 2 1996 (What s The Story) Morning Glory? 4 1995 Definitely Maybe 58
Also, LYLA made it to 83 on the top 100. If they have a great single, they should definitely make the top ten. That's hardly not cracking America.

it's not that leo lewis cracked the us and oasis goes unmentioned..
it's that she cracked fuck. she has one #1 single. her album sold not even a million copies outside the UK. if she has cracked the US than james blunt must immediately be inducted into the rock'n'roll hall of fame....wtf happened to him btw?

The music scene over in "the states" is horriable ATM. I some how believe Satan himself is in charge of our top 100 and what bands/groups/things where people pretend to sing get radio air play.
I would not worrie about her cracking the states, today we onyl have one hit wonders so it is really not that big of an acomplishment.

Can't say im too up on the indie scene these days so it would be really unfair for me to comment. My comment is mainly refering to main stream bands.

i just looked at weezers last album it has sold around 1.3 million or something. Weezer had a hit about two years ago and DBTT has sold around 3 million (?) but has not had a massive hit. I'm hoping for better promotion but we'll see. Also the US itunes has added their own personal reviews of MG and DBTT ( DM has been done for quite awhile ) I'm just putting that out there

i just looked at weezers last album it has sold around 1.3 million or something. Weezer had a hit about two years ago DBTT has gone GOLD in the US, which if wikipedia is referring to US GOLD status means 500,000 copies. 1.3 million is all for Weezer's Make Believe? Damn, I would have thought more. I'm pretty sure the single Beverly Hills was Weezer's biggest hit to date - it was top ten and sold a shitload on iTunes, I believe the most downloaded song of the year. Did Oasis sign with another label recently? Sony isn't putting out this record, right? With a solid single and some decent promotion, Oasis' new album will do just fine.

Yes, their apparently signed to Universal now. The thing that makes me wonder a bit, is that when they did it, we didn't hear much about it. So was the record deal worth a lot of money? Or was it just a one time deal for Lord Don't Slow Me Down?

The only reason that Stop the Clocks came out was because Sony required two compilation albums and a six studio albums in the contract or something like that, so after Stop the Clocks came out, Oasis was free and I guess universal picked them up, but hell, I'm not too sure, I read it on Wikipedia. But as for promotion, I hope they have a lot in America, because right now it kinda sucks
