Refering to a previous topic,
I really dont think Liam could reach AATW in a big arena. Perhaps acousticly like did on the Late Late Show. But what if they dropped it from a 'B' to an 'A'.....wed still get the same song after all.....
But my real money is on A Noel and Gem Acoustic shortened version.....that would be something......
....Fuck STC.....i would pay alot more to see AATW again and even more for an acoustic..... Would that not be mega?!

Yeah, I'd love to hear any version of All Around The World right now, whether It'd be a new acoustic version, a '08 live version with Liam, or even the one they did in '92-'93.
Seriously, this song is one of my favorite Oasis songs! It's so epic and bloated, which I think is cool as fuck! This song just screams out "We're the best band in the whole world!!!". I love everything about it! It really is a very uplifting tune!
As for Liam to sing it now, I think he could definitely pull it of. The song consists only of short phrases so sing (All Around The World/ You've gotta spread the word), unlike for example Don't Go Away, and Slide Away.
So, play this song on the new tour! It would be an epic closer!

AATW is a top tune but I'd rather fucking see Liam get his voice in shape and take on Slide Away. It's a way fucking better song

I would really like to see AATW, no question. Although, i am going to be greedy and hope that Noel decides to attach an extended outro, similar to GMex:

I would really like to see AATW, no question. Although, i am going to be greedy and hope that Noel decides to attach an extended outro, similar to GMex: Dream on mate, Noel doesn't have patience for a five minutes outro anymore... actually i bet that if they played AATW they would play a 6 minute long version... the BHN days are gone...

I saw Oasis live at Valby Hallen in Denmark in 2005 and they played My Generation with an extended outro. Not quite 5 mins though

I know some people knock the extended outros for being arrogant and self-indulgent but can any oasis fan on this board complain about a live performance of champagne supernova with the extended outro, truly amazing.

I was just watching the g-mex version of this song, and i just have to say that they should have ended the album version the way they played it live. I'm not talking about the extended outro, but the chord changes at about seven and a half minutes, would have been the perfect end for the song. I love the album version, but it extends to about ten minutes, and i think that had they ended it like this, it would have been about seven minutes long, and been just perfect, and probably a lot more popular.

I'd give my right arm to them re-record the entire Don't Believe The Truth album with Owen Morris and make it sound like Be Here Now. Furthermore, I think they should re-record this new record that hasn't come out yet with Owen Morris to make it sound like Be Here Now.

Owen Morris is not coming back....If Oasis used him again and his "brick wall" everyone would accuse them of living the past. Be Here Now was a time and place....your not going to get that sound out of them again. I agree that DBTT needed a bit more "umpf" and I wouldn't mind rougher sound.... but Morris ain't coming back...I don't think his and Noel's head would fit in the studio...remember there is a reason why they don't work with him anymore. As for AATW, that would be amazing, that song has really become a lot more popular from that AT&T commercial, I think its a good choice.... I'll take it over Stand by Me as a BHN choice any day. They really have to stop ignoring BHN, its part of their history, it wasn't awful (I really love it)....they really need to embrace it. Imagine the cheers if they played AATW in Seattle?? I might pass out ;D

I've always said I'd like some sort of "Be here now...naked", a version stripped from the overproduction. Don't get me wrong, I love BHN, and I think that it's been overcriticed, but I'd like to hear a version where Noel - 'cos it's clearly Noel having a problem with it - could give a new life to really good tunes. Yeah, the songs sometimes are too long, and too overcooked, but reworking them could give them a new life. Sadly I don't think it will ever happen. I think Bono said U2 would've done something similar with POP (which I love as well), but it was never done.

If there were a concert and the whole band played All Around the World with a 40 piece orchestra in back, and they added on the reprise at the end, then everybody left the stage and Noel played Stop the Clocks on an acoustic guitar with no support...
The entire world would be more impressed by STC. AATW was the most coked out, pointless 8 minutes in pop music history. The lyrics mean nothing, the melody is like a Disney song, and for Christ's sake, NO song is good enough for two key changes.
Any musician or artist of any kind will appreciate the depth and textures of STC, even in its raw demo form. AATW can't stand up to it.
I've defended Oasis on a lot of things, but AATW is just not a good tune, any way you cut it. I'm convinced that it killed BHN.

Figured I'd put it out there: The extended outro on Champagne Supernova is used several times as build-up in STC. The tension from the F-G chords repeated over and over again seems to work great in Noel's songs.
