First off Frank, thanks for the songs you have released, I remember you from the Inet days so I know just how long you have been trying to get your hands on this bootleg so fair play to you for achieving it!
What I would like to propose is that you upload the snippet of Stop The Clocks that contain the lyrics which were published in the sleeve for the stop the clocks album.
This would certainly be enough for me untill the song is released and wouldnt really be breaking any code of honour seeing as oasis themselves have already put this section in the mainstream in a way.
I cant speak for anyone else as to whether they would be happy with this, and i guess thats not really a concern, but I think that the vast majority of people are desperate for anything to give them a feel of how the songs sounds. And who knows, this could be the way to make everyone a winner.
Up to you though
Cheers again fella
Steve

Why would you want to hear just a snippet of a song?
Surely holding out for the full version is far more rewarding?

If he doesn't want to post up a clip, then surely he could put up some of the lyrics? That's not too much to ask for is it?

If he doesn't want to post up a clip, then surely he could put up some of the lyrics? That's not too much to ask for is it? Here you go: Stop the clocks and turn your love around Let your love lay me down And when the night is over there'll be no sound
Lock the box and leave it all behind On the backseat of my mind And when the night is over where will I rise? And what if I'm already dead, how will I know? How will I know?
Lost inside my head behind the wall Do they hear me when I call? And when the night is over where will I fall? Where will I fall?
But if I'm already dead How will I know? How will I know?
And now my fight is over there'll be no sound...

Those lyrics are very disappointing. I have the feeling this song is just a Sunday Morning Call version 2.0.

Those lyrics are very disappointing. I have the feeling this song is just a Sunday Morning Call version 2.0. I was just about to say the same thing about the lyrics. There's nothing special at all about those lyrics. And "mega tunes" depend on the lyrical content: Live Forever, Slide Away, Masterplan, etc....If these are indeed the lyrics, I'm going to be very disappointed

Rubbish lyrics. I have always thought that Noel writes good lines, when taken by themselves, but some of his lyrics are not so cohesive. This is not bad. He has taken the title from a poem which I believe is by W.H Auden and is actually addressing a, for want of a better word, 'deep' theme here, death. What is death like, how will it all end? I am always a bit critical of Noel when he does the whole rhyme simple rhyming thing, ie around - sound, but I think these lyrics are quite good. Although, the tune is the make or break really. You can the write greatest fucking poetry in the world, but if you get Fall Out Boy to set it to music you'll still want to tear your ears off.

Its "Stop the clocks and turn the WORLD around" not "your love around"... "Turn your love around" is from the demo. Apparently. "Turn the world around" is presumably from a slight re-write.

hey monobrow, perhaps you would be willing to do something similar to what you did with the 89 Noel demos to get hold of stop the clocks?

You know, it doesn't look like Frank has actually posted here in about 5 weeks. Even having made my own plea in the other thread, I think all this is probably falling on deaf ears. The guy doesn't seem to want to show his face around here. It's his choice, but I'm not sure I can have a ton of respect for someone who pops his head out of the shadows to let us get a whiff of the song and runs away again to hoard it all to himself. At least show yourself on here Frank and answer us.

he asked the webmaster do close his account Guys, I apologize, but I have asked the web master to close my account here and lock down these threads. I'm going to drop off the grid, as they say. I would like to thank Trent Harrington for sharing the songs with me and Mick for backing up my account with his own experiences. It is clear now that "Wonderwall" is the winning song, as it is strongly leading the polls on both forums. That song will be given to the web master to share with you at some point tomorrow. Thanks to all those who were nice... I was trying to do something good for everybody, whether you think so or not. Farewell.

He's a pathetic waste of time. He isn't worth all the offers, if he actually was a true fan, he would have shared it with the rest of us. What kinda of person taunts thousands of people who they don't know just for self pride, especially over the internet...
