1) Oasis possiby playing the Virgin Music Festival in Toronto (usually the first weekend after Labour day in September)
emailed to me
I've got a rumour from a radio station promotions department that Oasis is set to play Peg City (Wpg), Manitoba, Canada on Monday, September 1st, 2008. They've also said this would go public April 7th.
It would be their first ever gig in Winnnipeg, which would then lead us to think they're embarking on a fall US/Canada tour, and an album release sometime before then. i live in calgary too (transplanted from vancouver)
my buddy is the program director at the new rock station in med hat and he has confirmation that oasis will play the 'dome in august with the hives as support...could be epic!

Hives as support sounds pretty cool, but unlikely somehow. Let's hope for a UK summer tour then.

Radio station promotions? Are they typically the first to find out?? Does this suggest they might be signed up with a label or associated with a tour promo management company like LiveNation?

Things are finally starting to move on the rumor front. And the best thing, these rumors may be legitimate. At least more than those shitty fake album rumors!

Ummm, if you're talking about the last bit, I'm going to take a guess that "med hat" is Medicine Hat, a city in Alberta, so I'm guessing the dome they're speaking of is in Calgary. Therefore it's the Pengrowth Saddledome. And apparently it's quite large, can fit about 19,000 people in it.

I'm a Promotions Coodinator at an NYC station and we deal directly with Live Nation, AEG etc and most shows (related to my format). Promotions are usually the first to find out, so that Promoters can get free advertising (through contests) rather than paying for artime. If Oasis are in planning a tour or scattered shows, Promotions staff at stations would certainly be in the know.
Hope this is all true.

Have Oasis hit anywhere between Vancouver and Toronto before? I've been anxious to cross my home country at some point soon. This could be a good reason.

Winnepeg??? Calgary??? No offence to those cities, but fuckin' hell.... I figured you'd have to drag Noel kicking and screaming to do the 'Hot Spots'.... Now word that they are gonna do shows in smaller cities that they didn't even visit back in the day??? I'm in no way saying it's rubbish, it's just all a little hard to take in know what i mean? Either way, I'm fuckin pumped that talk of a tour has started... ;D I've never seen them in NY so I'm hoping to get down there to see 'em this time round.

Winnipeg surprised me, but I could see them drawing a good crowd in Calgary. I'm sure diehard from Vancouver and Edmonton would join in the fun.

Perhaps an early/mid August release for the album with a few small promotional dates in the UK before starting a world tour in Canada? Then coming back to Europe for indoor dates before Christmas (October/November)? Fingers crossed.
