I am trying to get some information on the Oasis cd "What's the Story, Morning Glory" (1995 production). I recently purchased this cd at a local Best Buy store. When I got home and looked at it more carefully, I noticed it was not the usual cd covers I have seen on this cd. The front cd cover is upside down with only one fella, as opposed to two, walking away from the camera. Also the Oasis logo is not present. When flipping it to the backside, it's the exact same cover as the front, only a slightly closer view. The songlist has the original 12 songs listed with songs #6 and #11 left blank as opposed to "unknown". I haven't opened the cd as yet and it is still in the factory wrapping, so I don't know what other iniquities I might find inside or on the cd itself. I have taken this cd to a local cd outlet and they offered me a substantial amount for it but I refused the offer. This is not a reproduction of the 1995 cd, but is the original produced back then. Photos of the cd front and back covers can be seen at: front: xs.to/xs.php?h=xs225&d=08114&f=cd_front362.jpg back: xs.to/xs.php?h=xs225&d=08114&f=cd_back423.jpgAny information on this cd would be appreciated. The songlist has the original 12 songs listed with songs #6 and #11 left blank as opposed to "unknown". wow, how funny. I bought WTSMG at Best Buy in the summer of 1996 and the back cover of mine is exactly like yours. It is just left blank on 6 & 11, does everyone else's actually have the word "unknown" printed there? I've just realized I have never looked at the back of another copy before. oh ya the front cover on mine is normal though, just like the cover of all the rest.

There is nothing printed on the cover, but the tracks come out as 'Unknown' on the computer by default.

The booklet inside the cd case is in backwards. ;D that's funny. good observation. John, I'd go back to that outlet and sell it for a substantial price. Pity to see the look on their faces once they open it to see that the booklet was just put in upside down!

I agree that maybe it's just that the booklet is in backwards and upside down but this is what looks peculiar to me ... I've owned both the US and UK versions and the inlay card shouldn't look like that. From that view you should be seeing all black instead of that orange light or fire or whatever it is, and the whole thing under the clear CD tray should be a bordered picture of what you see on the back cover. Maybe this changed when it was reissued on Big Brother after the Creation label folded, but I don't know. Ahh wait, that's just from your camera. I see it on the rest of it now.

I guess he either didn't get a chance to read up on his email or thought it was too trivial to give a response. Guess I'll take the dealer up on his offer. BTW, the offer was $375 usd so he must know something is highly unusual about this cd. Not a bad profit, but I think he thinks he can get more for it. Thanks to all who replied. John

I think it is just a reflection of light on the wrapper (you can see the same light less visible in the first picture)

Mine has ''The Swampsong'' listed on tracks 6 and 11. The first copy of WTSMG I bought had nothing written on those.
