hello, i've been listening to lots of SOTSOG and HC songs lately, and i couldnt help but wonder with the use of the mellotron so much, could Noel maybe be turning his ear toward one of my favorite bands the Moody Blues.I dont think hes ever said anything about them, but i like to ask him if i ever meet him.does anyone agree that there is some passing simularities on the background vibes and color that wouldnt sound out of place on either ones records?

They've really used the mellotron consistantly since WTSMG. Songs like Cast No Shadow, DLBIA all have a mellotron in it. I actually prefer them go with a real orchestra instead of the fake way. But I don't think it has anything to do with the Moody Blues. I would think Noel would look at Pink Floyd's use of the mellotron more

the real orchestra on BHN rules, but the mellotron sounds on SOTSOG are also pretty cool. You can really tell Noel worked hard on that record.

so is BHN the only oasis album with a real orchastra? I was always under the impression that morning glory had one.

I think Going Nowhere has an orchestra on it too?

I've been saying that for years. Every once in a while I get a hint of In Search of the Lost Chord and On the Threshhold of a Dream.
