I <3 Michael Gerson.
Inexperienced? Bottom line, Obama is an incredibly intelligent, honorable individual. Check what foreign policy experience Clinton, Reagan or FDR had prior to holding office. Want to talk experience? I've lived no other experience than a Clinton or Bush in power for 20 of my 23 1/2 years. What has it done for us? Their combined efforts have seen the massive spread of AIDs in Africa, no viable future for Social Security, a health care crisis, massive terrorist attacks in NYC, D.C., and Oklahoma City. There's also been a surge in anti-Americanism, more partisan politics than recent memory, shameful sex scandals, questionable real estate practices, massive corporate fraud and most recently, a shameful introduction of racism and fear mongering in a primary election between a black man and a white woman for the Democratic party. I'm pretty sure that this was supposed to be about positive change for the American people. Since it was whittled down to two it has been nothing but two months of picking at scabs that were supposed to have healed years ago. What a disgrace these two families have been for this country. Both are shining examples of arrogant, despicable individuals more concerned with attaining and maintaining their own power than the good of their country or their fellow human beings. Anyone else loving the Clinton/Bush experience?

Anyone else loving the Clinton/Bush experience? McCain is incredibly intelligent and honorable too. And your Bush/Clinton problems you list mean nothing. Things like that will always happen. There will never be a utopian world. I love Reagan. Best president of modern times without a doubt. But what about the Iran Contra affair? And the war on drugs that he started was and still is a failed program Obama is not the right person. We have a war to finish in Iraq. We have to deal with N Korea and Iran in the coming decade, and we still have to focus on terrorism in general. Why would you risk inexperience on an unknown guy (Obama) when you have someone who's been through it all, and has almost everyone's respect (McCain)? I love Romney, as you all know. But if it was was Obama vs. Romney, I would understand why people would be inclined to vote for Obama. But with McCain, who is bipartisan as well, Obama just doesnt stand a chance.

Being a good politician in my opinion is knowing when it's best to just shut up even if one knows they're right. Having enough confidence to know one doesn't always need/have to win, to actually win.Speaking the truth and making points without patronizing, preaching, demeaning or telling anyone how to feel. Making people feel good about themselves without kissing their ass. Leading by example. And above all, maintaining one's principles, integrity, and character at all times. All qualities George W. Bush lacks and McCain seems too as well. Charm, charisma and intelligence accomplish/get people further than anything learnt in a book, taught in a classroom or written on a resume. Skills good for life and hardly ever practiced in politics today.

There will never be a utopian world. Yup, another sound argument. I'm pretty sure all of the things that I've outlined are why people are gravitating towards McCain and Obama... Personally, I'd like to take a ride on the Straight Talk Express but I don't think I'd be able to find much room amongst all the lobbyists that donated and joined McCains presidency after he secured their defense contract...At least his daughter likes BRMC!

"When the conduct of men is designed to be influenced, persuasion, kind unassuming persuasion, should ever be adopted. It is an old and true maxim that 'a drop of honey catches more flies than a gallon of gall.' So with men. If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend. Therein is a drop of honey that catches his heart, which, say what he will, is the great highroad to his reason, and which, once gained, you will find but little trouble in convincing him of the justice of your cause, if indeed that cause is really a good one." -Abraham Lincoln

If you want you tell me who would would vote for and I will put mine down for them, considering you will be living in the USA for more than I will the next 4 years, you soon to be French-American! I don't like Obama at all... Speaks out of his ass, No Experience, changes his mind way too much, confused about the whole war thing, ect... Hilary over him but McCain will win... I think the younger generation the ones who can't vote yet such as high schools like Obama cos his young and his black ( I don't mean that in a racist way )and thats a total change which youth wants but doesn't think of the faults of youth...

The poll is closed but I would have voted for Hillary due to fact that she has more political experience than Barack.
