Wikipedia says:
*Noel Gallagher has stated that he, Archer and Bell all play both lead guitar and bass guitar in the studio, though mainly on their own individual compositions.
Mad For Gem site says:
role in oasis: Gem is officially referred to as Oasis' rythym guitarist, but in reality he and Noel split many of the lead parts so that Noel can concentrate on his singing.
Is it any true?

Well, I guess in A Quick Beep Andy is on guitar, he and Gem... Sorry to correct you but it is a "A Quick Peep" and yes Andy probably played the major parts on the song, but all the lads probably did contribute (inc bass)

Andy Bell is a great guitar player as well. It's too shame to being just a bass player.

Andy took a lot of control over "Keep The Dream Alive", he wanted to make sure it was just right. I also agree that Andy & Gem are underused sometimes. But, Noel has the final say.

Andy played guitar on both his songs on DBTT and Noel played bass. But just for the recording sessions, obviously, not live

I remember recently Noel told in an interview that he played bass for all Andy songs in the DBTT, it's probable that he did it in Gem's songs too...

You guys are forgetting that Andy is not "wasted" as a bass player. He's a great bass player and that helps Oasis' sound.

Andy Bell is a great guitar player as well. It's too shame to being just a bass player. Nothing wrong with being the bass player. Its the backbone of the band. When I used to play in a band at Uni I preferred playing the bass.
