"The guitarist is in Los Angeles putting the finishing touches to his band’s next album. Brother Liam is also back in the States after jetting to London for his Valentine’s Day wedding to Nicole Appleton.
I can’t wait to hear the lads’ new material. Apparently it’s a bit more psychedelic than previous offerings.
I’m told one of the tracks is an absolute epic, featuring a 50-voice choir. Sounds mega."From The Sun www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article840272.eceTotal fucking rumour....or maybe the truth??? Do you think Noel is going gospel on us, or "Roll It Over" type choir. p.s Read the Sun article about how Noel is moving house because of James Blunt ;D

Makes sense if true. He did say he'd like to have choirs and orchestras on the new album, which really would be fuckin mega. I don't know if they've ever actually had a real choir on an album now that I think about it. The choir on Roll It Over and Sunday Morning Call was all done on a synth and I can't really think of another song that even sounds like that.
I think it's great they're finally doing NEW stuff. No more simplistic, back-to-basics rock and roll...FINALLY something different!

Little James also had some choir stuff. Done by synth, but not to bad. I mean ... Oasis music fits well to those kinda things.
I think the next album will like a mix between Don't Believe The Truth (good drums, good grooves) and Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants (psychodelic, big sound).
I think, if all is true, Oasis made a good decision to do something new. The last 2 albums were back-to-basic rock n roll, which was good, but after SOTSOG and BHN, these last two albums were kinda lame in a way. I love it when Oasis do the big sounded songs. Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders is a good example of how great Oasis can sound likewhen they do some orchestra/choir things. Ofcourse, a song must sound good when you strip it down, but if that's the case, then you can make it a absolute mega good song when you add those extra stuff. Not overdoing it, but a good balance.
The Beatles were also great in making songs with orcestra stuff ... remind yourself to "The Long and Winding Road, Eleneor Rigby, Something In The Way (LOVE version), and A Day In The LIfe ...
And then imagine Oasis, doing a album that we can call the Oasis 'Peppers' ....
I just can't wait for the album, ... I hope when they finish there work in LA they will release the stuff as soon as possible ...
MAD FER IT !

it could be mega or it could be a mega-disaster I agree. Anyway, "more psychedelic" would be fine to me.

The last few albums have been 4 blokes sitting in a room thinking how do we make a great fucking album with just ourselves, and what's in the room around us....a bunker mentality, that they had to prove something. Apart from percussionist Lenny Castro on "Part Of The Queue", they don't really out-source to anyone. Time to change. I don't mind full blown orchestras, strings sections, long complicated solos, 50-voice choir (if true), bringing other musicians (like Paul Weller on CS) on board, and a LP longer than 40 minutes. Let's hope

I've also read that Noel stated that The Boy With The Blues could be kind of a gospel tune. So who knows? Maybe the 50-voice choir is on that song?

Let's not forget "Revolution Song/Solve My Mystery" from the SOTSOG demos, it's definitely a different sound that I thought worked well but as Mogly said it could be potentially great or total crap. we'll all still buy it anyway! ;D

Remember, Solve My Mystery is just a demo version. Who knows? Maybe they've recorded a new version of it with Liam on vox, a huge orchestra and a 50-voice choir? It's not impossible, because Sardy was the one who suggested they re-record Let There Be Love? Heres hoping.

Just to clear that up lol... It sort of sounds like Record Machine or just the whole album in general

I don't know why people love revolution song. I think it's only because it's unreleased that people go on about it. I think it has weak lyrics, the solo is just as the Let I t Be solo which would only help the critics and the oasis haters to say they only copy the beatles and are unoriginal, and I know its a demo but Noel's vocals are weak on it. I'd hate to see this song being released in an album
Anyway, I hope we get some news in March about the new album. Anytihing!

I think that Solve My Mystery/Revolution Song is a good song and it would deserve to be released as album song or b-side.

I'm not going to lie, that headline just made me laugh. I WISH the days of Be Here Now's confidence were back, but a 50 voice choir?? I seriously doubt it.

I seriously doubt it. ye of little faith....but you're right, total unconfirmed bullshit...or maybe...just maybe we could dream. The guy from The Sun does know Noel personally. That's him in the middle his name is Gordon Smart, with Serge from Kasabian.

I wouldn't want to see it released on an album or b-side, I want new songs, which are representative of them NOW, not old ones. The place for songs like that would be a future archives album.

SOTSOG sounds like Kula Shaker, which is good anyway. But i'd prefer a, say, mix of BHN and Giants... What do you think?
