No one would know in all honesty. Lennon always looked forward, and didn't like looking back (he hated talking about the mop top beatles) He might be flattered at the name checking, and the praise, and the naming of Liam's son, like Yoko is (she sent clothes to Liam for Lennon [baby]) He might admit that Noel has written some great songs, and that Liam has a great voice. Also, he might admire Political musicians like Bono, Chris Martin, Damon Albarn, more than Liam & Noel...this is all pure speculation. I don't know...he might think they are a bunch of c*nts. Or, the last great rock n' roll spirit left in the UK. We need this man...

Of their music? perhaps. who knows.
Of the Gallagher's themselves? no. I don't think Liam punching photographers constitutes as "peace and love"

John Lennon was in his fair share of fights. Well into his "peace and love" phase. Good things.

I don't think beating up Sailors in Hamburg and robbing them can be considered 'peace and love' either

Would John Lennon be a fan of Oasis if he was alive today? I think he would be a fan, well not a fan but he would dig and could relate to their attitude, outlook on life, rocknrouuullll, and music in general, but i think theres pretty much no point in speculating. If Lennon would have not died, would there be oasis, would past 28 years gone differently, would the world be the same and same things happened overall? In my mind Oasis is continuation in spirit, atleast, of some that Lennon represented, plus added the fresh young mans perspective that they had coming from where they came and of course the perspective of the world we have become to know after lennons death.

I think Lennon would be making obscure dance music if he was still around.
Like boywiththeshoes said, he was always looking forward and interested in new music and technology. In one of his last interviews he was talking about how he was digging a lot of the new wave of bands that had came out of the punk revolution - Madness, The Specials etc.
Would he like Oasis? I reckon he probably would have though the fact Liam thinks he is him, is a bit weird, but I'm sure he would have thought their music was OK.

Lennon was driven by the power and influence music brought to the world. He felt music could change things or be the spark for change. Oasis I think is the anti-lennon. Let's face it, oasis is all about oasis. Liam and Noel could care less about changing the world. They admire the beatles/lennon because of thier genius and impact they had to music but it stops there. Bono kind of carries lennon's torch these days.
All in all, I think John Lennon would be a fan of the music but not the people.

who cares? lennon was a hypocrite. he preached peace, love and brotherhood but never paid attention to his first son or gave him or cynthia child support. you'd expect something better than that from a man who had more money than god. (ok, i blame yoko more, but who made the money in that family?)
sorry lads!

no way to know what he might have thought. found some comments by Julian Lennon tho: Q: So there's no bad blood between you and Sean? A: It was nothing to do with him. From his point of view, it was a coincidence. But I have fact and documentation contrary to that. I didn't want to spill the beans to him about his mom. He's got to find out things for himself. The things that happen around him happen for a certain reason, and he's got to find that out. I don't want to step in the middle of that. Q: If deserted on an island, would you rather have his record (Sean Lennon) or something by Oasis? A: That's very funny. I'd probably rather have Sean's. www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/1999/02/21/PK86643.DTL&type=musicFor me, I felt like an alien, rather than "the son of," although I was being promoted as "the son of." And the problem was, every album that I released was being compared to the Beatles' entire catalog rather than where they were at the same age and level of experience I was in my life. I felt that was unfair to say the least. It's like when people ask me about Oasis -- it's very obvious there are comparisons to be made, but at the end of the day, do you like the song or don't you? www.rollingstone.com/artists/julianlennon/articles/story/5925256/the_other_son
