Oct 1995 - April 1996 This for me is when Oasis really were the biggest band in the world. They went from playing music halls, into arenas and then stadiums all in the matter of a few months. Morning Glory was flying out the shops, Wonderwall was on MTV non-stop, pubs and clubs blasted out Oasis tunes, and 1995 ended with huge sold out shows at Earls Court London, and the Arena Manchester. Early 1996 Oasis picked up 3 x awards at the Brit Awards in London. Don’t Look Back in Anger reached No1 in the single charts and in April Oasis played 2 x sold out nights at Maine Road. Those really were the best days for me!!!!!!!!

Thursday 21st August 1997 8.30am : Waiting In Line To Buy "Be Here Now" 9.00am : Buying "Be Here Now" 10.45am: Coming home to listen to "Be Here Now" 11.00am: Failed suicide attempt That was a great era. Only joking Still love BHN.... to answer your question... early 1994 when there was a buzz about Oasis, but Def Maybe was not released yet. There was a lot of excitement.

I'd have to agree with both of you. Thursday 21st August 1997 is probably my most memorable day during the oasis era, but that Oct 1995 - April 1996 time frame serves as my most memorable specified time period.

Of course that whole 1995/6 period was incredible but there are specific moments from that era that stick out for me:
7th June 1994 - Saw Oasis on 'Naked City' performing Supersonic and just thought, 'Wow, who are this lot?'
September or October 1994 - Finding Definitely Maybe in a store in Toronto (I was on a student exchange at the time) and playing it non-stop for the next month.
17th April 1995 - Seeing them on the White Room, probably their greatest ever TV performance. Acquiesce and Talk Tonight blew me away.
September 1995 - Hearing Wonderwall on the radio for the first time and being entranced by it, especially Liam's haunting vocals. Then listening to a promo of What's The Story that a mate had managed to get his hands on and just being amazed by it.
27th April 1996 - Travelling to Manchester to see them at Maine Road. Best gig I've ever been to. Bar none.
Happy, happy days.

Another memorable occasion was April 1995. Oasis played a one off show at the Sheffield Arena. Quite a big leap in venue. Something like 10'000 capacity. That was the night the fans stormed the barrier and ran to the front. Mental. The floor section was split in half. A front and a back with a barrier separating. Very strange. A few songs in, and the fans at the back of the barrier stormed the barrier and joined the fans down the front. I was in the back section. I considered climbing the fence but i remember loads and loads of heavy security guys. 1 week later after the Sheffield Arena show Oasis had their 1st number one with Some Might Say. Tony McCaroll was also relived of his duties at this time. On the night of the Sheffield Arena gig the support was The Verve and Ocean Colour Scene. Unfortunatley The Verve had to pull out at the last minute and were replaced by local band Pulp. And a couple of months later Oasis headlined Glastonbury. (although i thought they were average to be honest) All good times though...!!!!!!!!

What they achieved through those times is so orwhelming, respectable and admirable. The attitude, the music, everything.

Well two for me , cos I am terrible at choosing October 1997: They came to NY for two gigs, plus SNL and Letterman, New York was just a buzzed with Oasis. Plus I got to see my very first Oasis concert at the age of 16 Awesome time. May 25, 2001- June 9, 2001: Purely personally ,my friend and I traveled around the central and eastern US to see Oasis 7 times on the Brotherly Love tour, and had the time of lives! it was amazing
