I'd have liked this video so much if Oasis had been in it, im not sure what the thinking was behind it. Any thoughts ?

i don't like the idea of a japanese tribute band instead of the real band. laziness i reckon.
the live-video from '98 on the other hand was pure quality. one of the best videos they've ever done!

Agreed. They should've just re-used the Jill Furmanovsky one (just toss some pictures of Zac in to make it more up-to-date lol) instead of the tribute band. |

Dont think the videos great but on the other hand in the past when i've been sat there on the tube and an Oasis songs playing in my headphones i'm there imagining i'm the lead singer blasting out the tune so i liked that part of it
Wish they could have used the Oasis doing Acquiese from the White Room. Best ever live performance i've seen on TV specially with Liams 'evil' halfway through.

In 1998 oasis released Acquiesce on video for the MTV Australia and MTV Japan.
The video is made up of live footage from the Manchester GMEX show in 1997.
Im sure if you look on-line you can find this video somewhere

I've only seen the 'wonderwall' and 'champagne supernova' videos because they used to be on all the time. I'm not a fan of videos for songs. I don't like listening to and watching a video at the same time. I end up not really listening to the song, focusing on the visual or vice versa. Live performances I don't mind.

that is the right attitude of course. and in an ideal world, people would give a fuck about music clips. however, since contemporary pop culture was critically shaped by MTV and the likes, kids choose their music over the image and the visuals that a band conveys..quite ironic if you think about it. it can be a fascinating form of art if done properly..MJ's "thriller" etc. but even then it's bound to distract from the real message, i.e. la musica. oops, i'm  |

It bothers me that Liam doesnt sing the second verse. It's a great second verse...

this video is absolutely horrible... it seems that for every five videos from Oasis one is good and the others sucks... putting those japanese guys was a really stupid idea, I mean how lazy could they be to refuse getting on a stage and performing a song they do for more than 10 years?? I'm glad that the director from the Masterplan's video found a way to make a really good video without the band....
