I'm sure that to most of you Oasis are the best UK band at the moment (or maybe not...I do not want to presume). But, where do Oasis rank in the top 5 greatest UK bands of all time. Please list your top 5. Or do Oasis even come in the top 5??? They might include The Beatles, Led Zep, The Rolling Stones, Stone Roses, The Smiths, Wham Joy Division, The Sex Pistols, The Who, Pink Floyd, Queen, Duran Duran Cream, Slade, T-Rex, Take That The Jam etc... Any of your own.

Top UK BANDS in my Opinion
1-The Beatles (4 Wizards) 2-The Rolling Stones (Best Rock N Roll Band Ever) 3-Oasis (My Favorite Rock and roll band) 4-The Kinks (most underrated band ever) 5-Pink Floyd 6-The Who 7-Led Zeppelin 7-The Stone Roses 8-The Sex Pistols 9-The La's 10-The Clash or Cream (love Clapton's blues)
I think Oasis are truly great,, almost at the top, but maybe im just to obsessed, maybe not...

This one is tough good topic
1. The Beatles (doubt anyone will top them creatively) 2. The Who (started several branches of rock, also very creative) 3. Oasis (kick started music again, changed the way people talked, acted, ect, could be the last band that really changed a culture) 4. Rolling Stones (blues rock at its finest, somewhat over rated in my mind, great band though) 5. Pink Floyd ( created British space rock ) 6. Led Zeppelin ( just a great band, every member was a God at their intrument) 7. The Kinks ( vastly under rated, top band, define British) 8. Sex Pistols (early founders of punk) 9. Stone Roses (started the Manchester scene/acid house, had a masterpiece debut album and an under rated second, again like The Who and Led Zeppelin each member was a God at their intrument... well maybe not always mr. brown ) 10. Cream (first real super group, great band) or The Verve ( one huge album, 2 great underrated works, were supposed to be one of the biggest bands but couldn't hold on to it, lets see if they can reclaim it)
I would have loved to put The La's an there. Also I'm not a huge fan of Radiohead but they probably would have made it to my top 15.

I know this is all a matter of personal taste and all...but I'd like to know why do people always like to include bands such as The Sex Pistols, The Stone Roses and The La's?
I mean, The Sex Pistols and The La's only released one album each, and The Stone Roses only 2! sure all their debuts are classics but that's all! only one great album! is that enough to certify a band as one of the greatest ever?
I can see their importance but I don't think that justifies their status. At all.

Supergrass 4. Stereophonics 5. Radiohead (could have a higher ranking but too inconsistant)

I can never pick a top 5 favorite bands or whatever, but I can easily say that both Definitely Maybe and (WTS)MG? are in my top 5 favorite albums of all time.

Cos it isn't just about how long you stick around for or how many albums you release, it's about how special and important the band is while they're around. Plenty of bands can stick around for years and be total shit. In The Roses and Pistols case especially, they released amazing albums, inspired countless new bands, and changed music for the better. That counts for a lot IMO. In fact, I often think more of a band who comes along, blows everyone out of the water, and then fucks off before anyone else can catch up.

I would say Oasis deserve to be ranked to the all time top UK bands. Not sure who the other four would be, or eve where Oasis would rank. Oasis certainly deserve recognition.
My ranking would be this.......
1. Beatles 2. The Stone Roses 3. The Who 4. Sex Pistols 5. Oasis

I'd like to start by saying I'm just as big an Oasis fan as anyone else on here... that being said...
There is NO WAY that anyone can rank Oasis above:
-the beatles -the rolling stones -led zeppelin -the who -pink floyd
...You just can't do it. Sorry. I'd put em after those lot with the Kinks....
Oh, and anyone that puts the Stone Roses in that group must be injecting smack into their arses....
